Is there such thing as a comfortable thong?
Comments (33)TR, I usually run with friends. A friend of mine started a running group a couple of years ago that meets as soon as we drop our kids at school. We live in a historic, touristy town, and our kids' school is right in the tourist district, so we meet there and run all over town. There's pretty much a standing open invitation that whoever can, meets in front of the local Starbucks at 8am. We all have different schedules so it's different people every day, and different paces so we all just kind of naturally pair off with whomever runs at our pace. On any given day, there's at least 3-4 people. Most of us run in local races and are usually training for something. I typically run with the same two women so we roughly have a plan each week for what we want to run (for instance, our long runs are usually on Fridays). Right now, we are getting ready for the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler in Wash DC a week from Sunday. We have another shorter race two weeks after that, then I'm running the Zooma Half here in Annapolis in June. I'm 43, have always run short distances for exercise, but only in the last few years have I entered races and done more distance running (no desire/time to do a marathon so half is my limit). I used to do strength training and pilates but my gym closed and only recently found one that I like and joined in December. I am currently do a TRX class for runners. I used to spin, but haven't done that recently. I do love it though. Dh is a novice cyclist - he'd like to do it more but hard to find time for long rides. We have four kids under the age of 13, so our days are quite full as they are all involved year-round in a variety of sports. I'm fortunate that I have time after I take them to school to exercise, but dh works FT, coaches two lacrosse teams and helps me schlep the kids around so he doesn't have much time to get on his bike. I'm trying to get back into more variety myself as I've gotten flabby since I stopped my strength training. I hope that I am still exercising when I'm your age - you are amazing!...See MoreChanging futon frame into a couch?
Comments (2)I just took a closer look at the futon frame. DH has already screwed 3 lengthwise slats over the ones that already run the depth of it. He did it so that the mattress would lay level, like a bed, rather than make him lay at a side to side tilt, ever rolling toward the back. So, the frame already sits level. I thought I still had the rolled up towels and blankets stuffed in there to level it up. Now I only have to deal with the back being too angled. Maybe just hand out throw pillow and let folks use those to adjust their own "tilt"....See MoreWeek: 31 Comfort foods or comfort memories?
Comments (33)And Happy New Year back at'cha! Wish you all the best in these next months. :) Pit Update: Saturday a friend of a friend came and took both of them. She's mature, got a good job, owns her home with a big yard. She's keeping Bobby (aka puppy-boy) and her neighbor is taking sweet Maggie (aka puppy girl). These were the happiest, sweet dogs. Turned out to be clean, trained, house broken, curious, and just joyful. Someone dumped them, I'm sure, but they were house dogs. Perhaps breeders, but definitely house dogs. It was interesting. All the time they were here, they never left the yard. When I went out, they were right beside me. Bobby, would play catch with a 6' 4x4. Throwing it in the air, standing on it and trying to pick it up. Made it difficult for me to sort out a load of reused lumber, which had nails in it. It had to wait. He was a JOY. What a energetic puppy he was. He'd sit and kinda roll backwards with his feet stuck out in front of him, like puppies do. Didn't quite lift his leg. Hasn't earned his man card yet. Although they always wanted to ride in my car, they didn't want to go with her. (Leaving me? Awwww) But once in the car, they settled in, with their heads poking out between the seats to look out the window. The only time I'd see Maggie get excited was when wheels turned. Cars, trucks, bikes. She'd bite at them from underneath the door, vs. from the front. Scared me she'd get a tooth stuck and be crushed. I mention this, because the week before I had to get 2 new tires. Saturday night when I came out of work, I had a flat. Grrrrr. Had myself towed to my car place. He called me the next morning and asked if I'd hit anything, or was out in the field, etc. [wait for it] There were 2 puncture marks, one torn, in the sidewall of my new tire. So.... I guess Maggie is successful in her mission of killing All Things Tire. Got my living room painted. It is Beeeuuuuttiful. Even moreso without the crap stacked to the ceiling. Ceiling is Glidden 'Natural Wicker' and the walls are Duron/SW 'Tinderbox.' I just picked up the paint for the bookshelves. All this room needs is trim. and maybe some curtains. Well, maybe not. So I have 2 rooms done, -trim. This is very, very exciting! Leaves 7 rooms to go. Drywall, finishing, paint, trim. As a dear friend once said, "Baby Steps." Well, it's only 10 years this year from that stupid fire! Baby enough? Have a great, warm day. Eat those beans and rice if that's your thing, or just watch football. (Got my MI State U sweat shirt on, just for my sisters.) Take care!...See MoreSofa sleeper - such thing as a comfortable one!?
Comments (6)Yes there are, but you may not like the price. The Taylor King Conner is as good as it gets, and Del Starnes, CEO of TK made this his special project. I have had these in my store, they don't use the conventional Leggett and Platt Sleeper Mechs, these are quite unique and you can sleep on them regularly. These are very heavy units and cannot come apart for delivery, over 300lb. You will not be carrying these upstairs to a bedroom. https://www.taylorking.com/furniture/connor-king-sleep-sofa/?category=sleep-solutions Right behind the TK is the Hancock and Moore version, which is quite similar to the Taylor King. http://www.hancockandmoore.com/Product-Category/29/Sleep-your-way Duane Collie...See Morerobin_DC
