Name some things you don't like that most people do.

I do not like

coffee

almost all seafood

alcohol ( the kind you drink)

tobacco of any kind

Re; depth of planting the water lily: The stems on my water lily are maybe four inches long at this point (I'm talking about from the soil surface the where the leaves begin. Therefore if I submerged the plant more than about four inches, the entire thing including leaves would be underwater. Maybe I should have bought a more mature water lily! but I didn't see any at Hicks. Basically my problem is that I don't have a car. Of course this could also, in other contexts, be seen as a plus! If I had a car I would drive to the wonderful Scherer's farther out on Long Island, where I used to go in my car-ownership days. Don't know if I can justify a car rental to go plant shopping, but who knows what will develop as the pond-obsession continues through the summer! I'd also return those damned clay pots to Hicks. I might just donate them to a good charity. :o) Some thoughts before I join you in looking for those catalogs . . . 1. I'm probably one of the few that doesn't dab pollen (tried it once, couldn't get the seeds to germinate and figured I'd rather pay for someone else's trouble than wait three years to see a lousy creation of mine). 2. I agree, if I don't generally like the hybridizer's introductions. ;o) If I do, then they can intro as many as they want. 3. I'm in Michigan -- don't care about it. 4. I don't care for spiders, I DO like UFs, and it depends on the double. Once I saw in person a daylily with chicken fat edges, I decided I do like them after all. 5. I like this addiction. Talking about how good I've been NOT buying more expensive cultivars just makes me want them more. I'll stick with my present buying habits (lots of daylilies, but still haven't spent more than $75 for one). 6. Beautiful photos are terrific. But if someone loves daylilies enough to snap a terrible picture of one, and then posts it, I'm happy to look. I understand the need to share. 7. Couldn't agree more. 8. Ditto. 9. I'm in Michigan. What's rebloom? Just my opinions!

I like a latte, fresh and hot, and I've come to prefer one in the afternoon instead of morning. At the end of the work day, when it comforts me. Gets me ready for the evening. I love to sleep in. Hardly ever get to, so when I have a morning when I don't have to be anywhere I love to stay in bed and stay in that soft place between sleep and awake where you are relaxed and you are aware of how relaxed you are. Spending a day with a friend. Had a Saturday last fall when an old friend was in town, we spent it at an outdoor book festival on a quaint downtown square and had lunch at a great French cafe. Soooo nice! I even said to her in the moment how I felt so relaxed and sort of one with myself. That "find yourself" moment recharges the batteries for a long time. I love taking the kids to the pool on a hot summer day and being so completely worn out from the play time that we just fall asleep smelling chlorine and cut grass. Visiting my parents, sitting around their fire pit roasting marshmallows. Fourth of July. I love the Fourth of July, parade, concert in the park, cook out, and fireworks. It's an annual family reunion for us, we go to Ohio to the town where I was born and most of my family still lives. Love to see my cousins and our kids playing together. Just thinking about these things makes me feel better. ;o) It's been a long week already!

The money comes from 'rate payers', aka, you. The beauty of it is that most people don't even know the money is being taken from them. It's certainly not free, and the public utilities are not giving anyone a gift out of the goodness of their hearts. You can collect a couple of hundred bucks toward a new appliance, even if the old one is still working fine, and they'll take away the old one for you. (Doesn't it take a lot of energy to manufacture these goods, then transport them to your door?) One of the utilities here in SoCal is also replacing old windows in houses, and who knows what else. I'm really surprised that it's thought that most people do like some of the things posted here! I think most people DON'T like some of the things posted, so you're right in line with most. For example, do most people like tobacco? That'd surprise me. Do most people like fishing? Well, some, but most? Just curious, as many of the things posted here would surprise me if it's true that most people like them.

For me, some things I don't like that I think most people do are:

Brad Pitt (by "like", I mean that I think most people think he is handsome)

That twangy garbage that some call "country" music these days. It's not "country" music in my book.
People who marinate in perfume, stenched laundry detergent, fabric softener, scented deodorants, and hair sprays along with all the other smells. Put all that stuff together and you smell like a cheap beer f@rt.
Shopping. Especially with someone who has to stop and look at EVERYTHING!
People who have to chomp their food/gum with their mouths hanging open. Guess they were raised to think that's "smiling"

I guess I did misunderstand. I thought we were supposed to post things that we don't like but that most people do like.

Going with the flow of this thread, here are some things that I absolutely don't like:

People commuting with their headphones on so loud that everyone can hear the music.
Spiders - hate them.
People that consider animals to be disposable.
Negativity.

TV shows that start out with a steamy scene.
Can't they work up to it?

Too much computer crap - deletedeletedelete. Oh yeah - hate the send to ten friends including me, keep this person walking or keep this candle lit. Please.

Capri pants (though if men were honest about what they think I would be in the majority)

Nope, don't like pets. Lots of my friends and family have pets and they're cute and I interact with them when I visit their homes and I take pics of their cute pets but I don't really like them......the running around, the shedding hair, the smells, etc. I would never have a pet.
