Hi and welcome. One of the most popular and 'goes with everything' colors is BM Gray Mist. The color you chose would really would depend on your furniture color though. Oak? Black? White? Cherry? I would use the blue in the rug as the pop of color for the room and go with something else for the walls. Blue walls might drown out the beautiful rug.

i have to say again (yes, i'm repeating myself for the zillion-th time!) color reads DIFFERENTLY depending on a number of factors ...and honestly, i haven't figured out what exactly those are. we are building a new home in the rear yard of our current home. so we're living in the old house which gets a lot of natural light. i tried out a number of colors on the walls of the temporary house and thought i'd selected ben moore's ELMIRA WHITE as my Perfect Gray. so i take my trusty paint brush out back to the new place -which is FLOODED with even more natural light- and proceed to paint a 3' square of elmira white in my new kitchen. and it looks totally TAN! i decided to leave and come back later after it has a chance to dry. when i return i am floored. the gorgeous and perfect elmira white is now BLAH BEIGE. i tried it in four other rooms and same thing. meanwhile i had tested ben moore's ATHENA in the old house and determined it was colder than an arctic blizzard. just TOO cold, so i forget about it. i return to the paint store and buy over $100 worth of sample grays and each of them ends up so warm in the new house that they too, are boringly beige. i'm sitting here at my wits end trying to figure out what's going on. and then i spot the giant 4' swatch of way-too-cold athena and it hits me. everything i was trying was warming up so, i got out the athena sample and headed over. i found a clean wall and started painting. and low and behold, the overly cool athena in one house was The Perfect Beautiful Gray in the new. it was the first gray sample i purchased. i could have saved myself a lot of time (and even more money) by just testing it out IN THE SPACE. so i won't waste your time picking grays i think are wonderful ...because, A: color is subjective and B: it always morphs itself into something else depending on where it's living. so good luck, have fun and no, it won't be easy choosing!

I have a custom-modified version of Sherwin-Williams's oyster bar throughout my house. The "custom" part is that I asked the paint specialist to "double it", so it's slightly darker and more saturated than the original SW oyster bar color. A color consultant advised me on the color, which I originally thought was a boring beige, but in hindsight was a great choice because it's very neutral. It has slight undertones of gray/green, depending on the light. It looks great with just about any other color accessories, including Persian-type rugs with reddish, blue, and green hues.

Are your floors stained on-site hardwood or did they come pre-finished? I’m asking because I really like how your kitchen has turned out - and I’m thinking about being a copycat (as my mom used to tell me - “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery“ - every time my younger sister would “copy” me - ex. I cut 6” off my hair - 4 days later my sister got the same exact haircut). I might have missed it - but what did you go with for your backsplash? Oh - and I know that you already had your countertops but . . . Are they quartz or marble? Everything really looks nice. I may go a with a little “moodier” blue on my island - but I really like yours too. i just looked back through your photos - the blue island has so many looks depending upon light!
