Some have said that it does get in the way, especially when you have to get into the cabinet underneath. And that people don't like leaning up against the towel/bar. Especially if the towel is damp, then someone unknowingly leans up against it while using the sink, then gets dampness on their clothes. But then others have said it doesn't bother them at all! Do a search on it. I read a thread recently, but I can't remember if I did a search on it & found an old thread or if it was a recently posted thread.

I used the same pulls that I have on my similar cabinets, which means a different one on the pantry pullout since it is one finish and the trash pullout is on the island in a different finish and with different hardware. The pantry pullout is horizontal on one side of the fridge and the pantry with rollout and broom closet on the other side of the fridge have the same handle installed vertically, The cabinets stacked on top have knobs because they don't all open the same as the ones below them and it looked better to make them different. I do have cup pulls too -- the same finish as the pantry pullouts, but they are my horizontal on the white cabinets (pantry are blue and island is cherry with black pulls). I didn't mix the cup pulls and handles on the white since I wanted the handle pulls to go on the blue cabinets. So I have all cup pulls but have seen plently of mixed cup pulls and bar handles. My suggestion is to buy plenty and check them before the holes are drilled, then mix or rework a few if you need to -- like my pantry.

hi deedles, sorry i didn't get the email followups to this thread. but anyway, hope i can answer your questions now. baltomom, i just got your email, but could not reply directly to you. so to answer your questions, please see below. i have a 33" apron sink. my base cabinet is 27" deep, 34.5" Wide. i have no center stile in my cabinet which is frameless. my cabinet doors are about 24" high. My trash pullout is a 35 quart model revashelf, door mount with glides on the bottom. total height of the trash pullout is about 18". it is a single trash can with an extra compartment in the back for trashbag storage or you could put a small compost can (but i use my compartment to put dishwashing detergent). I put the link to my model below. the 35 quart size is plenty big for my family since we have one 35 quart trash pullout under the prep sink also. with 2 35 quart bins, we empty out garbage 1-2 times per week. the 35 quart trash can has plenty of room above. i just have to make sure that i don't have garbage that sticks up beyond the can too much. i considered getting a lid, but found that we like just pulling open the cabinet and dropping things in, so i never bothered getting a lid. my garbage disposal was installed right in the middle of the cabinet, but there is plenty of room for the garbage pullout because the actual pullout is narrow and long. the tightness for me was in the back because there is plumbing going behind my pullout, but luckily, my cabinet was extra deep so it all just fit. there are also other revashelf models that are wider and less deep, so you can look for one that will fit the best for your cabinet and plumbing needs. i also considered a double can pullout but the back can would not clear my GD. The pull on my trash pull-out is a knob, but it's mounted on the recessed panel of the door, and works fine. I think I had to use a shorter screw, but you could also put a thin piece of wood on the back of the door, to use the screws that come with the pulls, and to reinforce the door panel. Adding: When I first installed the pull-out, I had a cup pull with the extra piece of wood on the back, but later changed to a knob to match the sink cabinet knobs.
