Is it time to put down soybean meal in my zone???
Comments (12)"Should you water the grass afterwards?" Well, no, not necessarily. I attempt to apply the soybean meal when there's some rain in the forecast though. It really doesn't hurt anything if it sits a few days. One exception in my opinion is with alfalfa pellets. It's really best to water those in....when you water em, they sorta melt, breakdown some & go right to the soil & that gives a good start to the decomposition process. There may be some differing opinions, but that's my 2 cents Good day, Dan...See MorePutting my dog down on Tuesday
Comments (10)Thank you all for your kind words. It really does help to know there are caring people here. I keep telling myself, that as Lu said, he probably would not have survived this long if not for us. He has had numerous health problems in the last 1 1/2 years - another small tumor removed from his penis, several teeth removed and his left eye removed in June. Yes, he is really a pitiful site now. I just remember how beautiful a dog he was before. And how beautiful a dog he is inside!! He is truely the sweetest dog I have ever owned. After being worked so hard for years, by the time we got him, all he really wanted was a warm bed, food and an abundance of chewies. He never like toys or balls or really running around with our other dog. I think he just wanted love. He sure got that with us. He will be missed. I am spoiling him in his last couple of days - no more hard dog food. Right now I have a crock pot of round steak cooking for his meals tomorrow!...See MoreI think I may need to put my dog down
Comments (21)Thanks for your replies everyone. That is great that you got to have Casey around for over 2 years, Nancy. Tso has truly been a family pet. When Tso was about 10 months old, he was given to my oldest son by a friend. She gave him to my son because his original owners were being mean to him. I think they just did not know how to deal with a Shar pei. They do tend to have attitudes, but to us that is part of the appeal. Then in 2006, my oldest son moved to Thailand. So my youngest son took his apartment and General Tso. When both boys lived with Tso we would watch him when they would go out of town. In August of 2007, Tso came to stay with us while my son went away for a weekend and basically never left, (my idea) lol. When we first took him to our current vet, I told him this story. He said at least you claim him. Some people still refer to them as their son or daughter's pet. I told him, I claim him, pay for him & am the one who mostly takes care of him but if he could speak he would tell you that he belongs to my daughter & she is the queen in his world, lol. So when the time comes he will be missed greatly by everyone. My son is already telling me I will have to get another puppy so that Smokey (our other dog, 5yrs) will have company. I am not so sure about that, but you never know. He is really doing very well this week. He is drinking just fine but isn't too interested in the dry food. The last time he had an ear infection he did the same thing. My thinking is that it hurts his ears to crunch the dry food. So I am putting some dry food in the bowl with a little bit of water to soften it. Then I add some canned food to that. He really likes it and gobbles it down. I am just keeping an eye on him and will do what I can to make him comfortable if he has a bad day. I will keep everyone posted on any changes. Once again, thank you....See MoreFlood. Dog put down. Can't even think about sink but need to.
Comments (22)Thank you all so much for your kind words and hugs....what a caring group here. I ended up starting a whole new thread about the sink. It has been sort of messed up fron the start with the big box writing in the contract we would get a Blanco..then later realizing it was a "mmistake" and they don't even sell Blanco... We found out they are allowing us about $428 or something like that for our sink. If we use the fabricator's brand (Elcipse) in an 18 g...we aren't out any more money. We can upgrade to the 16 g 1 3/4 bowl for $69, or get the single bowl Artisan for $69, also a 16 g. The Artisan doesn't have a rear drain, but I'm to the point I can live with it anyhow. Since we just lost so much in the flood I need to cut back now. I'm telling myself we really have come a long way from our original kitchen...we have pretty new cabinets and our granite is coming. It could be a heck of a lot worse. Some of our neighbors have most of the contents of their homes on the front lawn in heaps. We've been declared a "disaster" zone. I'm going to get one of these sinks...by Wednesday. That's my goal! And a faucet. And 2 new cars. My mind is going 'round and 'round...sink, faucet, car, car. :) I'm a hospice nurse and on-call tonight, so I just may forget the whole thing tonight and "think about that tomorrow."...See MoreHU-24725023
