Paint color for white springs granite and off white cabinets?

I need help picking a color to pull my kitchen together please!

Cabinets are an off-white biscuit with an island in espresso. The granite is white springs (blue-greys, cream, black, some gold and bits of red), stainless appliances, backsplash will be a neutral stone with red-brown glass accents. I've been through 10 cans of test paint and nothing seems to work. If you have white springs, can you tell me what paint you used? Thanks!

Can you post pictures of your kitchen? What color are you leaning toward? What tones have you tested and rejected?

I've tried a variety of beige colors and golds, trying to pull out the creams and golds in the granite but those paint colors just seem out of place because of all the grey in the granite. Then i tried some grey, but that looks dull next to the cream colored cabinets. I didn't post a picture because the colors don't come through well (I have a terrible camera!).

Kat - Thanks for the compliment. Our perimeter counters are soapstone and the island is marble. The marble still makes me nervous and I continue to etch it (which is not highly visible on the honed surface, but I still know they are there). The inset cabinets were an absolute must for us. We did tear down construction in an older neighborhood and wanted to have some elements of the 1920s-1940s style consistent with the neighborhood. With the kitchen being visible from the front door, it needed to be both pretty and fairly authentic. Sure, I lost a little storage space by doing the inset, but the look is exactly what we needed.

What color is your floor? Drapes? Counters? I just had a color consult for my cream w/brown glazed cabinets, hazelnut (dark) hardwood, and granite (greys, blacks & browns), cream trim, brown, turquise & gold drapery treatment, and they suggested a milk chocolate paint color. I'm waiting for the sample to see if it will work.

Oh my gosh! I'm reading all of your posts right now to my Hubby so he'll know I'm NOT the only one who can't make a decision on a backsplash! LOL I have the white Alaska granite countertops as well. It has been well over a year and I still can't decide! And although I do love them, it's such a hard decision to match them with a BS! I'm so happy I came across all of your posts. I know your struggles! However, hopefully, by now you have found the perfect backsplash for your kitchen countertops! Please post pictures if you have time. do you have a lot of natural light? Are you looking to lighten it up or to make it seem more cozy"? Have you tried a pale blue, almost a gray, but with a blue undertone so you aren't trying to match the granite tones exactly but to just be complementary? There are also a lot of colors that lean toward "greige" that may incorporate all of the elements, again without specifically matching.

Yes, lots of natural light in the kitchen. Do you know any "greige" colors I can try? I get overwhelmed when I get to the paint store and everything looks the same. Ideally I would like a color that makes the cream cabinets stand out rather than blend in while still complementing the granite, so your idea of "greige" makes a lot of sense.
