A few years ago Sandy made a quilt for Joan using her pictures. So I made a top. Well a friend finished it up and brought it for me the other

day.

Thank you Peggy for fixing the link and posting it. The other sites all want the IMG link. Thanks for the compliments. I loved the border fabric too when I saw it I bought all they had which was only 3 yards and they never got it in again. I plan on using these colors in the next quilt for the other granddaughter and perhaps doing the Dresden pattern. I have not done a Dresden for oh my goodness has it been that long 35 years. When the granddaughter saw it she is 13 she said,"its so Springy." So she loved it. I am putting these quilts away in the closet for the 3 girls. I will post the one I made last summer for the oldest granddaughter. She will get it next year.

Janice I think the hexagons were 3 1/2" from one side to another. I bought a hex ruler from JoAnn's that cuts from strips...really easy. The pattern came from a book...Don't recall the name of it at the moment. I think it was Beverly/grammyp who had shared a similar quilt and recommended the book. maybe she'll share. (Sorry, trying to get ready for a weekend trip and can't check at this time) The pattern basically called for sewing 2 triangls to opposing sides of 1 hexagon. That gives you a four sided figure that you can easily sew together in strips. It really looks more complicated than it was! Nina~ Jason is 2 1/2 now...I have a similar pic of sister sitting on the bed while I took a picture of her quilts about the same age!

That is wonderful! I would love to make one of my family's old picutres! Someday when I have time! this is beautiful Velleen...great job and you chose some really nice pictures for it!

Veleen ,that's gorgeous!! Was it hard to do the pictures??.I have tons of pictures of my flowers,and this summer i blew some up,framed them and they became my bedroom art for my walls.I'd love to do a quilt like yours.In my SPARE time of course.

That is beautiful DIL made me one with family photos but I wish she had made a wall hanging instead; the quilt is in its quilt box.

That is absolutely beautiful. I bet I have some of those pictures as you sent me in a swap once a cd with your pictures on it. I looked at them again the other day. Do you have a spare bedroom to put it?

That quilt is the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen. You have every right to be proud of it! (I have done some quilting myself-hand and machine.)

Oh my goodness Velleen, that is gorgeous! I love going to quilt shows to look at quilts but I have never seen one like yours.

One of these days I am going to learn how to quilt. I think I would be good at it. I would have to hand sew it though because I am all thumbs when it comes to using a sewing machine.

I need to go visit Jenni or Flamey or Sandy so they can teach me how to sew with a machine.
