New Earth class

Well I had registered last week...booted son off the computer so I could be there on time. The "feed" was good at the beginning but after about a half hour I couldn't "follow" what was being said because of the terrible feed. It kept breaking up etc.

Did anyone else have the same trouble? I know it said you can view it from the site after last night, but I guess the whole point of the class is that people can take part in the discussion...I think some of that might be lost in just downloading it. I did my 3 sheets though (6 questions) and I will view the class....hopefully next week the feed will be corrected.

Just wondereing how others made out with it.

You weren't the only one. I received this email today. Looks like a lot of people had trouble. I'll see if I can get it off the website to find out about it. I wasn't able to download the player to participate in the webinar.

I had the same problem last night. Can't wait to watch it tonight. I tried this morning and it wasn't posted yet, but I see that it is available now.

I'll try again to watch it live next week. I wonder if it's even possible to have a half million people watching the same thing at once without a web traffic jam. Has it ever been done before?

tox, It's a good point, but target plant selectivity is a hallmark of herbicide development. What everyone wants is high effectiveness with only the target plant, and no effect on the crop being protected. For clopyralid, as an example, forage and grass hays are permitted a residual level of 500 ppm. We know that tomatoes are sensitive to levels of 30 ppb in the soil. If you couple that kind of effective selectivity with some environemtal persistence, then the stage gets set for someone, somewhere to have an issue. edit - To illustrate the point -- if the half life for degradation were 30 days (about the average for clopyralid), and the soil level were 10 ppm, then by my calculation it would take ~9 months for that 10 ppm to decay to a level of While farmers did use to love the persistent aspect, many are now questioning the desirability because of how their options can get cut when faced with a need for crop rotation. That hit ND wheat farmers when scab became an issue. I have heard anecdotally that WI dairy farmers in some areas are now prohibited from exporting their manures off-farm, and many are running out of places to keep the stuff. Welcome, Dee, Becky and Lisa, glad you could join us! I spent the day dealing with my groundhog problem. He has cleared my back flower bed, and the hole he is digging is going to undermine my shed. Time for solutions! I called Animal Control and they gave me a list of people who will come to your home and trap the critter. Great. I called the first one and he wanted to charge me $100 to trap my groundhog. I'm serious. AND, I guess as an added bonus, he said they would also take it away. NO?! Really!? And I was thinking the critter would live in that trap in my backyard forever. Sorry for the sarcasm, but come on. In any event, a friend of a friend is, hopefully, coming over sometime this week to trap the groundhog AND take him away, free of charge. This guy has already trapped 13, yes, 13 groundhogs at his home/yard this year. This wasn't the most encouraging news I've had recently. I have indeed been considering Toto and, in fact, have been planning to get the Toto Ultramax for the master bath, and Toto Drakes in some other bathrooms. (Unfortunately, I have way too many toilets to buy pretty much all at once; if I screw this decicion up, I will have screwed it up eight-fold!) My decorator keeps pushing Kohler, so I thought I'd go with that(Cimarron and Santa Rosa -- yikes, eleena!) in a few other bathrooms. I have been so confused. Actually, I was planning to get one of each of those first to see how we liked them for a couple of weeks (Cimarron is Class 5, and Santa Rosa is Ingenium). I have indeed looked at Terry Love's site (that's why we're getting Toto in places), but not sure whether I should use those everywhere, considering I have not ever seen one in person before. Back to the point... this is why I thought these Class 6 ones would be the perfect combination. Help!

I want do the book with the group. My Sound on my computer isn't working. But, I'll be reading along.

I think there is a discussion forum isn't there?

I just checked into the Forum on "The New Earth". I don't think I'll be in that group either. To many "Spiritual Giants" and the discussion is out of my league.

I just got the same email and like you said it must have happened to a lot of people. I agree it must be difficult to have so many trying to view/take part at the same time. I don't have an iPod so I will just watch it from her site I guess.
I checked around for any groups in our area as I do think it is a good discussion book...but the closest is about an hour away...with these weather conditions lately that isn't an option for me.
Thanks for your insight, glad it wasn't just my system acting up.

I just finished watching the "class" and enjoyed it very much...it is very much along the lines of the book philosphy. I'm really glad they made the video available for those that had trouble veiwing it last night. At first I thought it was a bit of a disapointment not being able to take part in the actual class....but I have to admit it was really nice to just sit and watch it today without interuption....except of course for the occassional commercial! I laughed when the first one played but I guess the sponsors need to get their message out too. I kind of hope they continue to offer the video the next day as the time line of the class is quite late here for me.
Anyway..I just wanted to say I enjoyed it very much and if anyone wants to see the first class it is available for anyone to view.

i didn't get time to watch last night and appreciate the note on the other thread about the rebroadcast. i won't have time tonight, make low-fat yummy chocolate-mint bars or watch the rebroadcast LOL no contest. i was excited to see it can be downloaded from itunes, so it can be watched w/o the webcast problems. you probably don't need an ipod (or any MP3 player) if you have windows media player you should be able to hear/watch it. hmm maybe if i get the treat down fast i'll have time for both... ~ liz
