Anyone have a sink under a window - but off-center?
Comments (4)Our sink is aligned w/the right pane of the window. Sink base is 36" and sink is almost as wide. This photo is taken at an angle and early on in the remodel. Tomorrow I can post something more recent. FWIW, the sink was off-center pre-remodel but only by a few inches, now it's off-center by at least a foot. I actually think it looks better this way and is better to look out (no divider in the way)....See MoreDoes sink/faucet have to be centered under a large window?
Comments (15)You have such a huge wall of windows there, I really think you could put the sink anywhere you want and it would look fine. I'd go for what functions best. Found some pictures of sinks that aren't centered under the window. I think they look great. I'm not a big fan of symmetry though. I don't "need" things to be centered. I realize some people do. :) [modern kitchen design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/modern-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2105) by brisbane kitchen and bath Kim Duffin [contemporary kitchen design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/contemporary-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2103) by san francisco architect OR [contemporary kitchen design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/contemporary-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2103) by los angeles kitchen and bath Mal Corboy Design [traditional kitchen design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2107) by cincinnati architect RWA Architects [contemporary kitchen design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/contemporary-kitchen-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_709~s_2103) by san francisco architect modern house architects...See MoreBeverage Center vs. Refrigerator: how important is 3 degrees?
Comments (5)I have a Danby beverage center and the minimum temp is 39 degrees (which I didn't realize). I wish it would go lower - not sure whether 37 degrees is low enough or not... hopefully someone else will chime in.... The other thing I'm not fond of is if the power goes out, you have to manually reset the temp since it resets to the max temp of 54 degrees. I hear this is normal when the temp setting is digital (not sure though)?? I actually will be exchanging this one (due to a compressor issue), but since I can't find one that I like better at the appliance store, I will actually just be replacing with the same one (under warranty). I want the glass front and do not want any wine storage, so my options are limited. Good luck! Comments (21)When we started the remodel the original sink was a couple of inches off center. I never realized it till I was thinking of the new design. In order to accomodate a lazy susan cab in the corner, the sink had to be pushed 3 more inches off center. I really worried about this before moving forward, but function won out in the end and my sink is off center to the window. My remodel isn't finished yet, but I don't think it would have been worth it to center the sink and lose all that much needed space in our small kitchen. I am glad I made the decision I did. I think it all depends on what you think you can live with- off center sink, or more limits to your cabs. Good luck....See Morepcjs
