Leave it to Rachel! I watched her show twice, just to be fair, but please, I truly do not know how she stay on the air.

She stays on the air because there are millions of people who have never cooked anything other than a microwave dinner & others who are still intimadated by the basics of things like making a roux. She repeats herself endlessly because every night there are new/different people watching. I think she's one of the few on the FN that actually tries to teach. For example, I like Tyler Florence & have made many of his "Ultimate" recipes but if I'd never cooked a durn thing in my life it would be hard to follow his shows, IMO. What I don't care for about her recipes are the long list of ingredients. She uses a LOT of fresh produce including several herbs & spices for each dish so often her recipes are expensive to prepare for young families or singles. Rachels also uses lots of prepared items like jarred roasted peppers, relishes, etc. that are again expensive. Still, I know several woman who tell me they've learned to cook from RR. Also, the only way she gets those meals prepared in 30 minutes is because she's using a large range that can handle multiple huge pots & she's usually got all the burners fired up. It's faster but she uses every pot/pan in the kitchen & assumes that a beginning cook won't get befuddled by all those things cooking stovetop at the same time while something else is in the oven. Personally, I would have benefited from Rachel back when I was twentysomething.
