Ours went out of business because of to much competition from other fast food places, I enjoyed their tasty burgers about once a year. If you live in a small town then your new Sonic will do well.

We have one very close by and patronize frequently, more because it's close than because the food is good. It's not bad, but I think the hamburger patties are kinda thin... And it's probably just because it's mostly operated by kids, but you have to really watch they get your order correct.

My DH is in LOVE with Sonic. For months on end, the darned tv ads here would always advertise Sonic, but there were none within hundereds of miles. I think our first trip to TN had us doing a "U-ie", just to stop at SONIC!!!

We would joke it was time to head south for a vacation, because DH needed his Sonic fix.

Now, Sonic is in the NE. And of course we were there on opening day. (got t-shirts on opening day.) DH still considers it his vacation treat.

Burgers are good. So are the tatertots :)

That is about the only fast food place I will eat. The new hot dogs are good too. I liked the one with kraut, onions and spicy mustard. Here in Oklahoma, a Sonic is in about every town. I think we have 3 or 4 here.

Now we only order the Sweet potato puffs and a drink they are more expensive than the tater tots but so delicious. Last time DS and I got three and a shake (Me-a caramel)

Tried a few times. Ick. Wasn't impressed. Untoasted mushy buns and tepid temps. Seemed like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp. The chili dog everyone raves about was really meh. I managed to eat it but it was just filer for my hunger. They get one star only because I found someplace worse...Five Guys.

I'm not a big fan of In and Out either but at least the food is cooked fresh and hot.

A lot of the ones in our area have closed. I didn't care much for the food at our local one, but tried the chicken tenders sandwich ($1.49) the last few times I was out shopping and it is pretty good... especially for the price. Makes for a cheap lunch out.

No Sonic around here. There was one 20 miles north and about the same distance south, but they both closed. I may have eaten at one once, but it has been too long ago to remember how the food was.

having lived in Oklahoma and now Texas I have long been a Sonic customer, it really does matter where you are I find very much difference in them if I eat at one in another state. There are several with in a couple of miles from me and we pick up food there often. I like sonic and whataburger. Sonic has the best Lemon-Berry slushy I have ever had, it is wonderful on a hot summer day, I always freeze my brain though, I very rarely get them these days because they do have sugar content. If you love lemonade get one! they use real lemons and tons of strawberries, when done you get to eat the strawberries!

We enjoy them now and then. Unfortunately, the one that opened about a mile from our house closed down this winter (apparently they've expanded too much, too fast on the East Coast and have had to close a number of them). Their prices are good, the food's no worse than other fast food places. And I LOVE that they have tots--I really prefer them to fries. Luckily, there's still one down near our country house, where we'll (hopefully) be moving in about 3 months, so we'll be able to enjoy Sonic there.

Their specials are often incredible. They had one about a year (or more?) ago where you got: chicken strips with cream gravy, a piece of texas toast, an onion ring, fries or tots and a drink--for 3.99!!! We were there at least once a week that month to take advantage of that good deal!

Yes, we've been and I don't like their burgers. I like their shakes and cherry lime aids and onion rings!

Our sonic has been here forever and most everything tastes the same - like grease. I had a hamburger the other day for the first time in over a year and I actually enjoyed it. Maybe they cleaned up the place, lol.

For whoever mentioned Five Guys being worse??? I love our FG, especially the fries.

I'm not a big fan of having all the fixings on my burger, don't like tomato or mayo, but otherwise I like them, as long as I remember to tell them not to put it on. And we love their slushies!!! Ohhhh, the cranberry one! But like Raven said, the sugar content is not a good thing for me! But as a treat, I get one anyway. I'll just cut some carbs else where if I need to. Oh, and I know someone who can get a 30' RV towing a small pickup thru a Sonic parking lot just because he's craving a Sonic slushie between 2-4 for their 2/1 daily deal! DH has actually taken our RV and truck thru a Sonic parking lot. More than once! One even had a truck height drive-thru speaker and they delivered, just like they do to your car! Wish I could remember where that one was.

Five Guys I wasn't super impressed with, but it was ok the only time we've eaten there. We finally have one about 45 minutes from us, but we haven't stopped yet.

We have Sonic and Five guys near me, but never been to either because I don't eat meat. Do they have veggie burgers?

I don't much care for their burgers really and think their hot dogs and awful. BUT they have fantastic drinks and happy hour start about 1or 2 in the afternoon. And we go to get a sugar-free cherry limeade. Ooooh they are wonderful.

their breakfast items are also good.And they serve the entire menu all day and night . The chicken club toaster is also good.

The Sonics near us are all very good. I like that the sandwiches come in a bag-like wrapping, so if I'm eating and driving, it's easier.

Once, the long wait at a drive-thru resulted in free drinks for us, even though that was all we ordered. I thought that was very good service.

DH loves their tots! I like the onion rings.
