lilliepad, she's referring to The Bachelor: Jason & Molly's wedding that was on tv last night.

Not me. I was wondering if it was going to be another over-the-top excessive spectacle that Tristan & Ryan's wedding was. Dottie

I was one of the few, I guess, rooting for them the past year. I like Jason and picked Molly the first time I saw all 25. I admire him for not going thru the sham of being engaged to Melissa because we all know it's a story book life they lead till the show ends and reality sets in. I loved the wedding rain or not and I like Trista and Ryan a lot too. Not so much Ed. And Vienna can dream all she wants. Ain't gonna happen.

I wasn't going to watch because I wasn't a fan of Jason, but ended up watching anyway and actually came away from it liking him. The past 1 1/2 years have been rough on them and they managed to survive, I'd say their marriage has a good shot of going the distance.

Kudos to them for not showing his son Ty. It bugged me to watch Jason's bachelor season and see Ty put in some uncomfortable situations.

I can't believe they did not have a back up plan in case of rain. It was Feburary, what were they thinking!!!! At one point the wedding planner even said if it was up to her they would be inside the banquet hall. I thought Molly looked beautiful, loved her dress and green shoes.

I wasn't really impressed with the wedding. It didn't appear to be as lavish as Trista's and Ryan's. I liked her dress but thought the outdoor setup was rather plain and appeared as though there was alot of empty spaces. I wonder how much imput they had as far as details and color selection. The bridesmaid dresses were rather plain and they certainly appeared cold, even before the rain.

The wedding took place in Pacific Palisades where the hottest month of the year is July when the temp is still below 70º. They were totally nuts to plan an outdoor wedding in February! Even if it hadn't rained, it's COLD there in February. It's warmer when it rains than when it doesn't...

All that aside, didn't Molly keep a great attitude? She must be a super sweet person. From what they were saying they just made the relationship legal!!

Did you notice all the glass vases on each side of the isle??? Never seen that before. I think something else would have been much more effective for outside.

After the original bachelor ended, Jason spent some time with Melissa and realized that the relationship was not going to work out and he still had feelings for Molly. He probably would have just ended that relationship and pursuit one with Molly but he was under contract. The producers, seeing some good t.v. forced him to end his relationship with Melissa on the air. They were getting ready to make Molly their next bachelorette and if he didn't do it right then and there, he would have lost out on Molly. He came out looking like a real heel for doing it on t.v. and catching Melissa off guard.....it certainly didn't hurt her career and Jason wound up marrying Molly so in retrospect it was a good decision but the tabloids were not kind to Jason nor were the talk show hosts.

I can't imagine being a part of that show. It's stupid. IMO

From what Reality Steve said on his blog (and he's never been wrong yet), the producers did more than just force Jason to end his relationship with Melissa during the After the Final Rose (AFR) show. The producers forced Jason to choose Melissa when he really wanted Molly (if he'd wanted Melissa, he would have had to choose Molly -- the point was that he had to propose to the one he DIDN'T want); then he had to break up with her on the show. The reasoning behind it was that the show had been kinda dull for quite some time -- none of the relationships after Trista and Ryan had worked out, and the show needed some real drama to keep viewers interested.

It wasn't a shock to Melissa when Jason broke up with her on the AFR show -- he'd already broken up with her in real life, and he'd already been seeing Molly, even though he and Molly pretended they hadn't seen each other at all.

The reason their wedding was televised (and the same reason applied to Trista and Ryan's wedding) was because that was one of the terms of the contract to be on the show. The contract states that if a marriage results within a specified period of time, then ABC holds all the rights to the wedding. Jason and Molly really didn't have much say in their wedding planning. Yes, Molly got to ultimately choose which particular gown she wore, but it was ABC that chose the designer. ABC chose the wedding planner, the cake baker, etc., etc.

Jason and Molly's wedding was a one-show, two-hour event, unlike Trista and Ryan's. Primarily because viewers weren't as vested in their relationship as they were with Trista and Ryan's.
