It's June here in northeast PA.

We jumped right past spring and feels like summer.

The weather is great today. Sunny and like June out. I am so anxious to be able to plant garden but that won't happen just yet. I did cut up some sprouting potatoes to use as seed potatoes. Izzi and I took several cruises on the big rig around our property. She was really panting. She gets groomed next week so it should be easier on her. Just hope we don't get back the chilly weather.

71 here and lots of sunshine. My brother came with his pickup truck at 9:30am and helped to take my mower to the shop for its annual check up. I inquired about a chipper/shredder but they don't have any on the floor so he sent me home with a catalog from which I can choose and they'll order it in for me. Well, maybe when I save up a little more and after some other needed house repairs this summer.

Afterwards I drove to RKO for some more RoundUp for the Shotweed and wowsa - the parking lot was full. Cars were lined up waiting for a space to open up. I never saw that place so busy, the whole county must have Spring fever. Lots of people buying potatoes and onion sets, even saw some roses and shrubs going out the door. marilyn sue, do you plant your potatoes on St. Pat's Day? My friend came as we were loading the mower this morning and said her mother always did that, but her man friend from West.Va. waits until Good Friday to plant. I don't have the room for a nice crop.

My garden plot isn't even tilled up yet this Spring. A little too early for me, ground is still a bit wet and I'm not planting peas this year. I'll wait until the middle to last of April to put in my lettuces.

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain ...

Love it! And we so need it. Hopefully, I'll be hiking in fields of wildflowers in the next couple weeks. Yea!

Jodi-

It's July in PA ,and we're heading into a drought. God help us this summer. We'll be Texas last year.

It's 77 degrees and sunny here- its glorious!

It is VERY SCARY here. Chicagoland has had weeks of unseasonable heat and seen several 80F days. We ran the A/C one night.

I don't think I've ever seen humidity levels remain so low. The poor trees and shrubs think it is mid-May and are in full bud. Migratory robins are here, but there are no insects for them to eat. The squirrel population had no die-off in our winter-free winter. (The birds of prey should be dining well.)

The slightest wind stirs up an eddy of dust because everything above ground is so dry, yet the soil is still muddy in low places. Firefighters are battling brushfires while slogging through mud beneath the dry brush.

We'll be a desert landscape come summer.

It's June in the middle of March. Sat outside at the local coffee shop and chatted with a friend. Now I'm going out to the yard to do some clean up. In a normal year I'd be shoveling the last of the winter snow.

The bulbs have all flowered and the magnolias are in full bloom. It's just glorious, and the bugs aren't out in full force yet.

I do have a feeling we'll be paying for this come summer. I hope May is not like August.

It's 36 degrees here, cloudy, expecting a little rain and possible snow, no real accumulation though.

Seems like it's already summer in some areas!

Schoolhouse, no I don't plant on St. Pat's Day, just whenever they get the garden ready. I have my potatoes cut and curing for planting though. They make a deep furrow with an old horse drawn plow that was my Dad's. They pull it behind the riding mower to make the furrow. One person has to hold the wooden handles to guide it. They also use it to make the ridge for the sweet potatoes.

We are not supposed to plant annuals for two more months, but I took all my plants outside. It's hotter out there than in here for now. I walked the dogs an hour this afternoon and it was downright miserable. We all were panting when we returned. It's also dry, dusty and all the trees are starting to leaf. Scary indeed.

ND reporting in--62, dry, windy and under fire warning. Feels warmer that that. Glad CA is getting the needed rain, but will produce more brush for fire season. Sure want to get garden in, but know that spring blizzards could also be just around the corner. Date to plant is June 1 --we will see! One year we planted our garden 3 times! Don't want to do that again. Soil still cold.

In TN we are 20 degs. warmer then we should be. The weather man said it is June not March weather. For the past 3 weeks it has been in the low 80's with lots & lots of rain. All my flowers are out & rose bushes are turning red (new growth) already. Don't want to see what the summer is going to bring.

Hooray! We are finally getting some rain.
An inch and a half since last night.
Our usually very green hills have suffered but maybe by next week they will green up.
And the wild mustard is blooming.
I hope it rains for several days.....we really can use it.

Send the rain east.

Very strange and odd feeling weather here in MN--warm, windy, and humid, far more like May or even June than mid-March.

It is hot today. It is 80 in the shade. Yesterday it seemed so weird to wear sandals and capris to the basketball tournament. Some folks who came down from Green Bay had to buy warm weather clothes when they got here. Usually basketball means parkas, gloves, dressing to stay warm outside while walking into the coliseum.

Several days straight rain or showers in the SF Bay Area. Badly needed, but wish it was spread out a little more. Woke up this morning to beautiful sunshine, which is still going. My rosebushes, including new plantings of the last month, are doing great.

My husband left this morning for Tahoe & downhill skiing. This is his first trip up this season, mostly because they've had only modest snow cover &, to make matters worse, he's extremely pickey about what snow conditions (can't be too much this or that) he will accept.

t is snowing in Southern Oregon....and cold. It was sunny and above 50 yesterday; wish I had planted that spinach!
