Hooray, Gloria, I knew you could do it. Now, how to use it? My favorite way is with some fresh fruit, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of granola, kind of a yogurt parfait for breakfast. I also use it on baked potatoes and in baked goods in place of sour cream, I make a honey/mustard/yogurt salad dressing, no measurements just some of each to taste. My girls both like it in smoothies, about a cup of frozen fruit like blueberries or strawberries, a cup of yogurt, blend it. Add a little sweetener if you like. I've heard that yogurt is good for acne, use a teaspoon full in place of face cream at night, but I've not tried it. (grin) I add it to bread, cakes, etc., in place of some of the liquid and I just eat it. Oh, and you can make yogurt "cheese" too, just put it in a sieve lined with cheesecloth and let it drain for several hours and you'll have a thick yogurt cheese that you can use as the basis for a dip or a spread. here ya go....those formatting problems with the fractions are really beyond annoying! Apple Cake 4 cups chopped apples 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup raisins ( I use chopped other fruit like dried peaches or apricots) Mix and let sit for about an hour ( less is OK) 2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsps baking soda ( I like 3/4 tsps soda and 3/4 tsps BP) 3/4 tsps salt 1T cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg Mix dry ingredients 2 eggs 3/4 cups veggie oil 1 tsp vanilla beat together 1 cup chopped pecans if desired. Add the oil and eggs to the apples and sugar and dried fruit. Stir in the dry mixture and add nuts if desires. Pour into greased 9 by 13 pan and bake 350 until done�..40 to 50 minutes. Serve with cake gravy! Cake Gravy Mix 1 cup sugar ..half brown half white 1 stick butter 1/2 cup light cream 1 tsp vanilla�. Mix all and cook all in a sauce pan for about 5 or 6 minutes until caramel colored. Serve warm over the cake.

I had forgotten about that.......now I need to look it up again. But that's usually a winter jam for me....when all the fresh fruit that is out there now is not available.

Momj47--great giggle! Not that either of them looks at all like where I live. An automatically changing by solstice and equinox "seasonal" widget brought it home to me. The sere, gold/brown "Autumn" colors are high Summer (end of June through September) where I live (Southern California), where "fire season" is also important for the propagation of native plants. The new greening is something that happens in Autumn and runs through Spring. We do have mountains, and they do get snow, but it's not a common sight in most of the area. Still, we have the holidays whose decor is dictated by the Northeast. :) Are there parts of Canada that have different looks for the holidays than the greeting card norms?
