NEED Good Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing recipe

Anyone have a great recipe???

The way I make it is very simple, but it's also my favorite. First I crumble the cheese in a bowl and mix it with fresh lemon juice, leaving large crumbles. Then I add freshly ground black pepper and a few grains of cayenne and then add enough mayonnaise to make it into a dressing. I do everything to taste, and so I do not have measurements. If it is too thick, I generally add a bit more lemon juice. You could substitute some sour cream for part of the mayo, but I do not usually do that. I also usually use Roquefort for the blue cheese.

My friend Joy that I worked with before I retired gave me this recipe. It's great.
Blue Cheese Dressing
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp dry yellow mustard
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt (scant)
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/4 cups mayo
4 oz imported Danish Blue Cheese crumbled (you may leave some of the blue cheese out and add at the end for chunks)
Blend all ingredients but the blue cheese on low for 2 minutes
Add cheese blend 4 minutes more.
Refrigerate for 24 hours.

I'm not Linda, but I have her recipe. I thought I'd go ahead and share it with you so you could make it Right Away, just in case she doesn't see this by the time you need Blue Cheese Dressing. It's the best I've ever had. I'm going to go ahead and post the ''story'' she had to go with it, so you know of her true culinary genius. ''Funny....I had a salad for lunch with my blue cheese dressing. The story goes is that there was a restaurant in Tiffin, Iowa where lots of people went after an Iowa game, and their blue cheese salad dressing was legendary. Their salads were enormous....they stood a leaf of iceberg lettuce up at the back of a salad bowl and filled that bowl full of chopped greens and dumped on easily half a cup of blue cheese dressing, made with Maytag Blue of course!!. Every time I went there I tasted the dressing and wrote down something I noticed about the dressing...Mayo based....sweet and sour, thin enough to coat every leaf, parsley...and a "bite"....horseradish. Finally my DH and friends said! That's IT!....here's the recipe...I recommend doubling it....or quadrupling!'' DonnÂs Delight 4 oz Maytag blue crumbled 1 cup of mayo ( I use Kraft) 3 oz ( about 1/3 cup) milk or cream 2 tsps sugar 2 tsps dried parsley 1 Â½ Tablespoons lemon juice 1 Â½ Tablespoons cider vinegar 1 Tablespoon fresh grated onion 2 Tsp Lee and Perrins worchestershire 1 tsp horseradish Â½ tspoon garlic powder. Unfortunately I don't have copies on my computer and am too busy this week to search through the dis array of recipes here. But there are several I have made. My late husband was CEO or The Maytag Blue Cheese operation, and would receive many many recipes from customers....and he would bring some home and say "what do you thing of this?" It I thought it sounded interesting, I would make it we would try it and perhaps make it again and ask friends to try it and maybe file it to be included in a future mailing. So that partly explains why I have all there odd blue cheese recipes...(blue cheese peanut butter spread anyone?) There is one I recall that is equal parts blue cheese and butter, seasoned with garlic powder and some cayenne pepper, chilled and rolled into tiny balls, rolled in ground nuts or seasoned toasted bread crumbs and served as cocktail tidbits on tooth-picks. Another I am struggling with had pepperidge stuffing mixed in.....not remembering much more than that....seems as if butter and blue cheese were heated and melted together and stirred into the stuffing mix until all the cheesy, buttery fat was absorbed, them rolled into balls, chilled and served. I think the first one sounds better.....as I recall all the mix of stuffing and blue cheese flavors was not particularly good.

I made Slow-Cooker Dressing last year for Christmas, and again this year for our Canadian Thanksgiving. It's the "only" way I'll make it from now on. I always add cooked rice to my stuffing/dressing, as well. Slow-Cooker Stuffing/Dressing 1 cup butter or margarine 2 cups chopped onion 2 cups chopped celery 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 12 cups dry bread cubes 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 4 1/2 cups chicken broth, or as needed 2 eggs, beaten Melt butter or margarine in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion, celery, and parsley in butter, stirring frequently. Spoon cooked vegetables over bread cubes in a very large mixing bowl. Season with poultry seasoning, sage, thyme, marjoram, and salt and pepper. Pour in enough broth to moisten, and mix in eggs. Spray slow-cooker with non-stick spray and transfer mixture to slow cooker. Cook on High for 45 minutes, then reduce heat to Low, and cook for 4 to 6 hours.

DonnÂs Delight 4 oz Maytag blue crumbled 1 cup of mayo ( I use Kraft) 3 oz ( about 1/3 cup) milk or cream 2 tsps sugar 2 tsps dried parsley 1 Â½ Tablespoons lemon juice 1 Â½ Tablespoons cider vinegar 1 Tablespoon fresh grated onion 1 Tsp Lee and Perrins worchestershire 1 tsp horseradish Â½ tspoon garlic powder. Mix gently so as to leave some lumps, and serve over a green salad or on sliced tomatoes or cukes and onions or as a dip for raw veggies. Serves about 6 to 8 Fran's Zesty Blue Cheese Dressing 4 oz Maytag Blue cheese 1/2 cup olive oil 1 tsp grated lemon peel 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 1 clove of minced garlic 1 cup sour cream. Mash cheese and oil together with a fork until creamy and smooth, add rest of the ingredients and mix well. Makes 2 cups. Rosy Blue Dressing 1 small onion 1 cup mayonaise 1/3 cup olive oil 3/4 cup catsup 2 T cider vinegar 1 tsp Dijon mustard 2 Tablespoons sugar 3/4 teaspoon paprika 4 oz Maytag blue cheese crumbled Put all but the cheese in a food processor and blend until mixed, add blue cheese and pulse to crumble. 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon onion -- freshly grated
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon horseradish
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix gently so as to leave some lumps and serve over a green salad or on sliced tomatoes or as a dip for raw veggies. Tastes better if you let the flavor develop overnight.

I'm going to try LindaC's recipe (I just KNEW there would be one!) only because this is for DH and I think he'd like the horseradish!!

Dressing is made and chillin' in the fridge.
DH can try it on his salad tonight. I don't do Blue so I'm not a good judge. I never like it, no matter how good it is! LOL
DH, however, loves the stuff and I don't make it for him very often because I can't taste it and adjust seasonings, etc.

That's why I needed a T&T recipe. I don't know why it took me so long to ask....
