I buy it at a health food store....it's cheap....andv ery good.
For that price I can't buy ginger root and sugar.

Trader Joe's has it pretty cheap too, although I don't know how it compares to the health food store.

Whenever I go to a TJMaxx or Marshall's I do a quick scan of their food aisle to check for crystallized ginger. They often have tins of the "Ginger People" brand at about half the price I pay at our local specialty food store. It's usually moist and flavorful.

The jars in the spice aisle at the grocery store are crazy expensive and there seems to be as much sugar as ginger in them. What's worse is the puny ginger pieces are tough as gravel. I've bought some in a pinch, but try to keep the better, more reasonably priced, stuff on hand.

I'm definitely not a fan of Trader Joe's ginger, it's tough, too hot and has a nasty taste. I also find Ginger People at Homegoods etc and use it for cooking, but we really like the Buderim product from Australia. It's far superior to other brands, but hard to find. In the meantime I usually buy ginger products at Cost Plus World Market.
