I'm not scared of a darker color on the ceiling, but in your case, I would carry your wall color up the angle. Otherwise, you would get the impression of 3 blocks of color, your wall, the angle, then the light decorative tile.

Camelback turned out beautiful in your space. It looks so warm and cozy!

Paint_chips-Yes, that is what I am going to do, so there would be two paint colors in the room. Camelback everywhere except on the tiles, which would be something darker than the Camelback.
My two options (I think)are Camelback everywhere or Camelback everywhere except the tiles.
Warm and cozy is what I'm after! Its better now than what it was a month ago!

Oh, those aren't the tiles in that center section? I saw white squares and thought that was what you were talking about.

In that case, I would go for it! I was just scared that you would have white tiles up there. The dark tile sounds like it will be a neat addition. Can you post a picture of the tile?

The camelback looks great!! I like the idea of painting the ceiling a darker color, but in your case, maybe just paint the whole thing camelback?

Since a wall color will always appear darker on a ceiling, just use the Camelback on the ceiling...no need for a different color.

I would probably just paint the whole area camelback. If you really want to go darker on the ceiling, maybe you could just go one shade down on the paint chip Baguette. If that seems to dark, you could go 50% Baguette.

If it were me, I'd probably try Camelback everywhere first. If that didn't work, then I'd go darker.

We have painted our ceiling like that and it really does just make the space feel bigger, less interrupted. I did notice that the ceiling color looks darker than the walls already as the same color. Hope that helps

Another vote to take the camelback on the angled walls. Do you have any spare tiles? If so, I'd try both the camelback and the baguette to see which one gives the effect which you like.

Well, I painted the angles Camelback tonight and started on the tiles that are on the ceiling, but I ran out of paint. I really like the painted angles!

I'm still deciding what to do with the flat part of the ceiling. My DH wants to do them darker and since I just bought a media unit that wasn't his first or second choice, I may go ahead and do it to make him happy. I like the baguette, so I may pick up a sample while I'm getting another gallon of the Camelback tomorrow!

I just wanted to post a quick picture after finishing painting this weekend. I painted the angles in Camelback and did halfway between Baguette and Cardboard on the SW paint deck. Not a huge difference, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Thanks for your help! Now on to window treatments and pictures for the walls!

Looks beautiful. I have baguette on my walls ans believable buff trim with antique white for the ceiling. It's all on the same strip as yours.Love the darker ceiling.

It looks great. I have vaulted ceilings and plan on taking the wall color up the vault. Builder for some strange reason divided the wall from the vault with molding and painted the vault white like the ceiling. I have always thougth it looked strange. Looks like you have a lot of light, I do not, but do you feel that taking the color up and a darker ceiling makes the room feel darker??? I need a lot of courage to take on this project.

gagesgranny-I wouldn't say that it makes the room feel darker as it seems to just cozy it up. The starkness of the white ceiling before really bothered me and it wasn't as comfortable a space as it is now, if that makes sense. Because of the height of the ceiling, I think the room really needed the ceiling to feel lower. Just changing the white took all the coolness out of the room.
I don't think you have to paint the room a very dark color at all to achieve that, either! Good luck (and you should post pics)!
