I've got some chicken thawning out. I'm thinking something along the line of some chicken/vegetable soup. It's cold here today....well, cold to me. Might be a good day for soup.

Congratulations! My neighbor just had a new baby Wednesday and my niece is expecting in June - babies are a poppin! This will be the first "great" grandchild on my side of the family - there are 5 on hubby's side already. My mom is the only grandparent left and she's very excited about being a great grandmother. My neice and my two kids are the only grandchildren on my side of the family as well, so this is a treat. My kids aren't even close to settling down so this will be the only baby for a while!! Spring is a wonderful time to have a baby as well! Enjoy her! I'm going to try to get a little done in the yard tomorrow if the weather cooperates. It's still too cold to get anything done besides cleaning up leaves and stuff, but that has to be done as well. I'm making a huge new veggie bed this year so I have to get going and get as much done as I can, when I can! I might have bitten off more than I can chew with all the seeds I have going, but I guess I'll soon find out! My girlfriend is coming over tomorrow night to fix some jewelry - I have lots of bits and bobs for jewelry making. I want to make some bread in the morning, get some done in the yard, then get back in the house to make dinner for when she comes over. I made some home made mushroom ravioli at Christmastime and I've yet to actually have any. That's what I plan on having for dinner. It's going to pour out Sunday, so I'll probably work on the scrapbook my SIL asked me to do up for my niece's baby shower. I've never worked on one before, but it's coming out nice considering I'm just fumbling my way thru! It's amazing the stuff they have for that now - I ended up buying a couple books and plan on re-doing the books I made for my own kids who are now 21 and 19! I just had photo albums stuffed with all their baby stuff. They have so many cute things now, even tho they're adults I still want to re-do them just to have for myself! Lisa

I tried a new recipe tonight and it's a WINNER! Arrange 4-6 chicken breasts in a baking dish. Mix 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup dijon mustard & 1/4 cup white wine and pour over chicken. Cover dish with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 X 40 mins., then uncover and bake 10 mins. more. Served with pasta and broccoli tonight. YUM! (Next time I'll add some mushrooms to the chicken for unneeded oomph -- we just like mushrooms.) Pat

My roast was a chuck cut. The only cut for Pot Roast in my opinion. Big chunks of onion and carrot to add flavor were browned in the pan first and then removed and browned the roast sprinkled with salt and pepper. Then put everything back in the pot with beef broth, sprigs of rosemary and thyme, whole garlic cloves, and cooked long and slow on the crockpot burner of my stove. The broth is strained at the end, but we did eat the nice big chunks of carrots. It was very good. And I love my new Dutch oven!

There were 15 for dinner at my house today. Everyone brings something so it is pretty easy for me. I started my spaghetti sauce on Sat. morning about noon. I cook it in the oven in a big canning kettle. There is chicken, pork chops, hamburg, mild and hot Italian sausage in it. I cooked until 9 at night and then shut it off and left it alone. This morning I took out all the bones and stirred it really good. Put it back in the oven at about 250 to keep it hot. Dinner was around 2. I cooked 3 pounds of Angel Hair pasta. Jerri brought a huge salad with lots of great things in it. Judy and Jackie brought garlic bread. Millie brought wine coolers. Yelena brought Russian cake, she is from the Ukraine. Everything was wonderful, the ladies ate in the dining room and the guys ate out on the patio at our huge table. So much fun and everyone complimented on how good the spaghetti was. I hated to see everyone go home.

I got a boneless turkey roast in my stoneware pot in the oven. Whole house smells good.

We will have tators and veggies to go with it. ;)

Thank goodness I listened to the weatherman, cause we have snow, and I bought food for lunch!

Good Italian sausage from Fresh Market, gonna cook in tomato sauce with stuff
baked sweet potato
fresh butter peas

AND later, PEANUT BUTTER on crackers!

We will have our regular Sunday dinner. Pasta, dinner rolls, salad, lemon meringue pie.

Hmmm. Probably left overs of Chicken, Potatoes and Turnup Greens. I loves my Greens! Gotta have cornbread too!

I make Chicken Enchilada Soup... Yummy! It's cold and rainy here and it's supposed to snow (boo...) so I wanted to make something warm and delicious.

I guess I'll make a pizza since I got Italian sausage out of the freezer this morning before my brain was functioning. We can have the leftovers tomorrow after being in Gainesville most of tomorrow.

Everything sounds so yummy.
My guys are out on the back deck chatting around the BBQ, so I am here in my office staying out of the way.
I made a potato salad earlier, and some spicy chicken breasts for my DD. She is here cleaning house for me, which is a godsend with company here. Gotta love her.
I am one lucky cookie.

Made (I think) nodakgal's recipe for Black Beans and Chicken in the crockpot. Have made it two or three times and it's wonderful! I serve it over white rice.

Something low carb and birthday cake for the kids. Alex turned 17 Saturday and I didn't make his cake because he spent the weekend with his father, so I'm making it today.
