Just to keep on the same page with the name "hunter green" attached to the color that was very popular once, it was a dulled or "dirtied" dark green, with a slight trend to the yellow side that had to be considering in working with it. I say dirtied because it's more like brown was added than like muted but still fresh greens. It was often combined with a dull off red, especially in "rustic" and "country" style items, like coffee cups and wallpaper strips with bears and hearts on them. I never bought anything but a shirt for my husband in this color, even though it was all over the place, because it definitely didn't go with the more vibrant and pure colors I was using at the time. Of course, the name's been attached to millions of items from millions of dye lots since then, but that's the base notion for this color.

I just tried justgottobme's idea...here is the problem as I see it. The space to the corner is only 5 inches. If I put the inside panel(the bed side) more outside the casing, then the window looks lopsided...probably because of the mulliens (sp??), you see more on the inside than on the corner side. Also if I just gather the panels on a rod, the corner one has to be too crunched up to be equidistant on the window making it look smaller,and the inside one tends to slide over. Granted they have not been ironed yet either, but I am thinking that maybe pleats would look better than gathered. And I think they would hang better as well. So...I can make those back tabs if someone can guide me in the placement of them. The panel is 42 1/2 inches wide. How far apart would you place the tabs? Pleated/tabbed would also allow me to draw them closed if need be. What do you think? I also have about a 2 1/2 inch finial to think about in the corner. That leaves me less area to push the panel into the corner. I think Bob suggested taking the finial off in the corner, which I certainly could do. But using tabs, I could place one tab beyond the bracket towards the finial. That would help keep them in place too, I think. HELP!!

I actually like the feature wall and the curtains, but think everything else in the room fights them instead of works with them. The furniture, ceiling fan, quilt, pillows etc, all feel pretty standard farmhouse/suburban master bedroom, while the accent wall and curtains feel like they could belong either in a beach house in cape cod OR a beach house in Cali/miami. The cape cod direction can work with classic furniture like yours, but the furniture all needs to be white. The white quilt would work with that style. The cali/miami direction needs white modern furniture. But the heavy dark bed isn't working with the blue wall for me. Not sure what else to tell you!

Cobalt blue is a gorgeous color but the walls +the gray headboard + the tan matchstick shades + multiple shades of blue doesnt equal a cohesive sum. Since the wall paint is fresh and pretty and since you like the grey headboard, consider sticking with fewer colors repeated in more elements and then add just one shade of blue as your proverbial pop? The photos that deco added are so pretty partly because they stick closely to plan.
