Freezing Cream Cheese question

An older thread here said you can freeze cream cheese but that it's good only melted afterwards, as for sauces, soups.

Would it work in the pastry you make for little pecan tassies or would it have seperated too much? I thought about going ahead and making the tassies and freezing them, but I have very limited freezer space..
