Mine are white, and we have been living with them about three months. I don't have the issues you do from daily wear. I had an issue when we moved in when one of the last trades (not sure who) in the house before we moved back had made some long, deep gouges across the cab panel short end of the island. The gouges didn't damage the paint, strangely enough, but you could see it the indentations. Our painters had to come back and paint the pantry door and trim near the island so they bondo-ed the damage and re-painted it along with everything else.

On the cleanup sink base, the caulk where the shaker moulding meets the flat panel is ripping apart. I don't know why. I don't spill water on the cabs at the sink so it's not from water damage. Maybe it's the weight of the sink itself? Not sure.

No visible dings in the paint yet, despite two young and active kids and three young and psycho cats. No paint wearing off anywhere. My cabs are custom and were only painted with BM Satin Impervo without any type of protection over that.

Do you have some pictures of the damage you could post? I was worried about not having a baked on factory finish! I'm sorry you're experiencing this.

DH and I made and painted our cabinets, and after a year, they don't show much wear. I have a very few spots that got chipped from being banged hard, but no "worn" looking spots.

We are post kids, but use the kitchen daily and I love to bake. I do a lot of food preservation and am somewhat rough on my kitchen.

Mine are also painted with BM Satin Impervo (waterborne) My bathroom cabs are painted with it also, and they are three years old with no signs of wear, and the bathroom cabinet and tub skirt get wet all the time.

I took some pictures with my phone; they're not the greatest.

First one is top of trash cabinet. That one is pretty easy to see the finish coming off.

Second one is the bottom of a drawer. Look at the left-most painted piece - that is actually the bottom of the drawer-front. (Sorry the angle is really odd.) Between that and the other piece there's a fine tan line that looks like a shadow. In real life it's a slight wearing away of the paint. I"m afraid it'll look like the trash cabinet eventually.

I thought the end of the renovation would mean the end of the stress. Not so!

Since the cabinets are new they should have some warranty. You may want to contact the cabinet company and ask for remedial work to be done on the paint finish. It should not wear as you describe in just three months.

Clarygrace is right--there should be a warranty. The factory paint is supposed to be baked on & more durable. I know our cabinets have a 5 yr or 10 yr (I can't remember which) warranty on paint & structure. We have been in our house for 4 months now and ours look like new. We are a family of 4--DH, DS1(17yrs), DS2(7yrs) & me. We cook in the kitchen practically every night and at lunch & breakfast on weekends too. DS1 is in charge of clean up duty in the kitchen and unfortunately cleans up like a 17yr old--LOL! We have had 4 parties (1 of which was 6 wild & crazy 7yr olds) in the space too.

I would call the cabinet people & get them out there to correct the problem. From the pics you posted, it looks like an install problem may be causing the wear--it looks like they are rubbing on adjacent surfaces (trash pullout would be rubbing the underside of the countertop, drawer is rubbing drawer/countertop above &/or below,etc). From the photos, I would say your cabinets were 10 years or more old, not 3 months!

What's the manufacturer? Or were your cabinets built local? Around the sink base and waste basket pull out gets the most abuse in the kitchen. But that should not be happening that soon.

Same exact thing is happening to my white cabinets. Just added a penisula last Christmas and the trash cabinet is showing wear. Bought our house in 2016 and all the other cabinets are doing the same. Just thought it was normal until I was complaining to my sister who has white cabinets herself and hers are not showing any signs of distress. Can’t connact the contractor as he was a nightmare to deal with. Terrible. All this money only to get poor work out of it
