For salads, I normally make one dressing, and put out a few others for people to choose their own. The conch shell is a perfect container for dressing. It comes with a pouring spout. Forsythia blossoms are edible, but they are very mild. I use them mostly for looks, and I have tons in my garden. When I was in Paris, Fruit De Mer always came on a tiered platter, and mostly shelled seafood. I don't remember they came with any vegetables. Posted by teresa_mn "Forsythia blossoms are edible. hi everyone! i almost scrolled right by this warm welcome back! thanks lydia for seeing me and to everyone else for the kind posts. things are about the same with me and my condition. no chance of getting out of my "chariot" so i just deal with it......life could be worse. my rearend still rebels from sitting all day so only get spurts of computer time. my move back to my home was the best decision i could have made although i employ two very lazy caregivers and need to make some serious changes! i could write a book...... july has been crazy with my kids and grandkids coming and going. anywhere from 2 to 12 extra every day except for a week. loved every minute..well, almost every minute except for the ones when i'm glad i didn't have to be the patient parent.lol. thanks again for finding me and bringing back good memories of good cyber friends. i'll try to be here more often. julie

Glenda, that is probably a good idea. I've been deleting emails as I go along though and haven't kept track of who I've sent the address too. So hopefully we can get about 50 peeps to join in and Julie will be getting mail everyday starting next week and until Xmas! I'll keep that in mind if I do something like this again though. I'm sending my card in about a week. I don't want her to get it too soon.

Well........this may take forever since i just lost 2 long paragraphs! thanks for thinking about me and to Lydia for the heads-up about this post. i try to keep up with reading but it's usually too frustrating to try and reply one-handed......and my left hand at that! the typos and mistakes i make drive me nuts!
Anyway....i am still kicking (with my left leg, lol.) i am going to therapy twice a week and am trying to get into an in-patient program either in East Tn near my home or in Atlanta. it will all come down to whether my insurance will pay or not. my goal is to move back to my house asap, with hired help 24/7 of course. March 12 will make a year since my aneurysm and i'm ready to move on in a big way!
in the time since i left the hospital in late July, i have gained about 90% of my left arm, maybe 20%of my right. same vwith the legs and i can stand up with help. my therapist likes to make me "walk" down the parallel bars.. she moves my right leg and i move the left. strength and endurance are primary targets. i got a motorized wheelchair a few months ago (thanks BCBS.$24,000!!) that has given me lots of independence around the house. my son and his family continue to put up with me..........
so, that is about it for now. i will hit "submit" before i lose this again!
Also, to Linda.....got your card and would love to do lunch sometime. i will call you when it looks like someone vcan drive me somewhere!

Great to see you post. I figured, you read a lot more, than you ever reply to. I have seen you ever once in a while, on some post, but it also has been a while.

Please keep us updated when you can, and know we are rooting for you to get more of your body functions back.
