In one picture I can see the ring structures inside one spot and that says Early Blight to me and note the yellow area around it. There certainly can be other foliage infections as well, please consider Bacterial Spot or Speck that you show, they are best seen on green leaves and seldom show yellow areas, but I can speak only to the early blight now. All new foliage infections are spread by wind and rain and show up on the upper leaves. When such infections show up first on the lower foliage it means that plants that were infected the previous year,or so, shed the spores and bacteria to the ground and what then happens is called splashback reinfection with those spores, etc, splashing back up on the lower foliage due to rain or irrigation and then the infections moving upward on the plants, Blotchy ripening is a well known condition and I'll link to it below. I never heard of cows in the graveyard, but I remember playing a road trip game called zip. You got one point for a white horse, two points for a white donkey and three points for a white mule. If you saw one, you said zip! Actually, only played that one time when we went on a road trip with another family. It's hard enough finding a white horse, much less a white mule. I had a stick horse too. I painted it black with one end white...blaze face...and the other end white...stockings. My grandmother lived next door and she was a mean old buzzard. I went over to play with my cousins who were visiting her one time, and at lunch time, she told me to go home for lunch...she didn't have enough to "go around." So when I came back, after lunch, she had my stick horse in the trash fire, and when I tried to pull it out, she tried to hit me with her cane. She actually ran at me...she was in her 70's. I remember my cousin said, "Git her, granny!" I can laugh about it now, because my cousins loved horses...just like I did, and said when they grew up they were going to have stables, etc., etc. As it turned out, one became an alcoholic and had 5 kids and the other had about that many marriages. I went on to raise horses...the first one I got was when my grandmother died and the estate was settled. "Get her, granny!" :))

We have a 2 1/2 car garage attached to the house, a 3 car garage at the back northwest side of the yard and a one car sized shed on the back southwest side. They all have heat, electricity, insulation, drywall and the walls have been painted. The walls inside the house have never been painted. Still wear the primer that was put on in the factory. We have lived here 10 years. Need I say more.

Oh, Sue, don't get discouraged and think no one is interested. I'd be willing to bet that as those younger generations grow up, at least some of them will get interested in the family genealogy and will be so grateful for what you have preserved! I don't know how old your son and daughter are, but I was 21 when my parents died (they died a month apart, and my 21st birthday was between their deaths). I certainly wasn't interested in family history then, but now, at the age of 58, I am obsessed with finding out as much information as I can. Daddy was in the Army and we were relocated every 2 years, including spending several years living in Europe, so I didn't grow up near relatives, or hearing stories about relatives or ancestors. I would give anything to have access to first-hand information like you have. Ron, bless you for preserving memories for your children, too, and for starting this thread!
