There are two screws in the front, near the wheels which need to be lowered to stabilize the fridge. Attached to the bottom of the screws are rubber pads which make contact with the floor. They are also used to level front/back and side/side. To access the screws, pull off the black cover at the very bottom of the fridge. You will see two hex bolt heads, one on each side. Using a socket, turn the bolts to lower screws/pads until the fridge is resting on them. Then further adjust them to level. This is all written up in the manual.

I have a new grandson--3 months old now. We did not use blankets at all and still don't . Daughter likes these pre-made, all in one swaddlers. I swaddled my babies but just used blankets. Amazed at the cool stuff that's out there. Even in the car seat and stroller the don't use blankets, they have this sleeping bag type thing that zips around. How about if you knitted a blanket to use on the floor for "tummy time". With baby's sleeping on their backs all the time they have to do tummy time with mom and dad so they don't get flat heads and strengthen their necks (according to dd). At my house we are always looking for a soft blanket for that activity. I guarantee you that blanket would see a lot of photo ops :-)

Thank you, all, for your opinions and comments. But, I guess I left out a detail or two when I originally posted... This is the couple's first child. I've sort of gotten stuck with helping with the shower, although I would prefer not to be involved other than to purchase a gift (which I've already done) and attend the shower. I'm also paying for the cake. All of us who are working on this would prefer that everyone be responsible for either purchasing their own gift, or organizing their own little group if they want to do a group gift. I've been tasked with designing the flyer -- which, to me, should simply say when and where the shower is being held, and that it's a baby boy (because that fact is known). But, several folks have already asked "who is collecting the money for a group gift," so I don't know if there's a way to avoid it altogether. And, in the past when someone has collected money for a group gift, no matter what the occasion, the flyer has always named the person who is collecting the money. And anyone who has worked there for at least a year (this coworker has been with us more than 10 years) knows that money is collected for group gifts, so having it on a flyer isn't going to be any big surprise. "I think putting up a flyer is tacky and I'd be embarrassed if I were the mother-to-be." It is quite common where I work for flyers to be put up announcing various events like retirement parties, birthday celebrations, etc. I really don't think anyone considers the flyers to be tacky. Yes, I have a concern whether saying anything about a minimum donation amount being tacky (which is why I started this thread)... But, those retirement party flyers all have menu choices and dollar amounts on them and something about how the money is for the food and gift for the honoree, and I've never heard anyone complain about them... And as I said a moment ago, the coworker has seen plenty of these flyers in the past 10 years. WildChild, I agree with everything you said. But, that still doesn't stop folks from asking who's collecting the money for a group gift... I think that I'm not going to put anything on the flyer about a group gift or donations; and when folks ask me "who's collecting the money" I'll just reply that if they want to go in with someone else on a gift that it's a fine idea, but they will need to discuss it with whomever they decide to go in with...

My vote would go against the soy formula. He's only five weeks old. All this switching around what you feed is not giving him a chance to adjust to the formula. There is also new controversy about using soy products for infants unless it is absolutely necessary. That would be babies who have a true milk allergy or are truly diagnosed with lactose intolerance. Colic just is. It is not diet related and there are many breast fed babies who go through it also. I know several and in fact because of the poor advice often given breast feeding mother's many panic and take them off the breast and put them on formula when they become colicky. So it most likely isn't the formula. it's probably an immature digestive system or an immature nervous system or perhaps a bit of both. Your DDIL needs to listen to her pediatrician or get a new one. He may just seem brusque about the colic because he hears it every day. If his manner isn't compatible with your DIL's wishes/needs then she should definitely seek out a pedi she is more comfortable with. Colic just is. Children survive it and grow into perfectly healthy people. My DD screamed for several hours a day for almost 6 months. Then she tapered but was still "colicky" for another 3 months. She was exclusively breast fed for 5 months when I was guilt tripped into starting cereal being a first time mother. It's heart-breaking to hear them scream and such a feeling of helplessness but he will survive. There has been excellent advice given on soothing him. As your DDIL gains confidence she will discover what works for him. My DD like to be held hanging face down over my arm while I swung from side to side. (a relaxed football hold) I learned to do everything with her like that. Thanks for the compliments on Mia. The dog with her is one of 3. I call them "the crows" since they perch and stare. They are siblings, one male and two females. The dog in the pic is one of the girls. She has appointed herself head nursemaid since the day she met Mia. The others are always nearby and are very protective of the babe.
