I bought the Kholer Mexican Sand sink for my kitchen's Baltic Brown granite counter 14 years ago. The sink was a special order and I couldn't find it anywhere to look at it first. IF it looked like it did in the brochure and on my computer screen, it would have been perfect with the BB granite...but it didn't. It has a pink undertone :o

Hi Melis, Wow! Your kitchen turned out amazing! So I see you are now ABB huh? Welcome to the club. Glad to hear you won't allow that decision to be rushed. No! No! No! You went thru HE-double hockey sticks to order the cabinets. I remember! So I agree, don't settle until the bs tile makes your heart sing. I still have not installed my backsplash...don't ask...but at least I did purchase and decide on the layout, thanks to the awesome people on GW. I will have to do a search of my own thread to tell you exactly what my tile is if you are interested. I know computer monitors colors vary, but I think the tile is very close to the paint color you have which eam44 pointed out looked nice. I totally agree. It goes really nice with your soapstone, cabs, and the island slab. Here is a close up photo of my tile. It shows the slight linen texture. It's subtle. Ignore the spider vein, oh whoops, I mean the "coral" patterned tile at the bottom. Ha! You'll have to read my ABB thread to understand about the spider vein tile. :-)I remember they are handmade tiles by Jeffrey court. I think they were $16-17/ft? I still love them and pet them every so often as they wait to be installed. I chickened out doing it myself. Other priorities had to come first. (big sigh) Anyways, whatever you choose I'm sure will be as perfect as the rest of your kitchen choices. Big congrats!

Cherry is a funny thing to me. People will call any wood with a red cherry stain on it cherry. I like cherry, but not that red stain. I don't really understand how it came about that people looked at cherry wood and said hey, look reddish brown wood, let's stain it kool aid red. I do know that the thick brown red finishes applied to cherry furniture were because there is a lot of variation in the color of cherry boards and cherry changes color over time. And people want things matchy matchy. I refinished a lot of cherry furniture and stained it with a natural cherry stain. It starts out a bit pinkish and then starts getting darker. It changes quite a bit rapidly and then kind of stabilizes. It is pretty. If you like cherry, then get cherry. But paying a lot of money for wood furniture that is not made of real wood does not make sense to me. If you live somewhere that has good antique malls or furniture resellers you can get pieces that are real. For $2000 plus you should be getting better. But that is just my opinion as someone who deals in fine vintage and antique furniture...

If you are selling, you should be just sprucing up so that things look clean and uncluttered, but not “knocking out closets“, and definitely not ”renovating the house” with new floors. First, changing out floors is a big stressful job. Second, lifting an old floor can open a can of worms that could really mess you up. Third, the floor you pick will not match what buyers might like - it’s best to price the home with the current floors in mind, and let the new owners install the floor they want. Fourth—and most important—you will not recoup in the sale price what you spent on “renovating the house”. Here is a screenshot of the floors you linked. That gray stripey look is dated several years already. One reason it got dated so fast is that it is very difficult to match wall paint, upholstery, counter, and cabinet finishes to it, nearly impossible. Don‘t install this. Just leave your floors as is and price your home accordingly.

hee, hee, hee...did you bring the dog to the store and say "here, match this"? I've heard of picking out upholstery to match fur but never flooring to match a belly.

Thanks everyone, thats my cowgirl! I did'nt even notice the "resemblance" until I uploaded the pic. We just moved into this house(it was a forclosure) and we ARE trying to find these tiles so we can extend the porch.
