Black tile for my BS? Pics
Comments (5)I don't know why, but my hestitaion is the green island with the black muti backsplash. Your eye goes around the room and to me these two elements don't go togther. Also, have you seen a backsplash with these tiles. It will be very busy. Nothing wrong with that, if that is what you want just be prepared. I would rather see a green, black and beige muti if that is the direction ou want to go in.(fire and ice comes in green tones) The way things stand now, your floor is the odd man out and doesn't relate to anything in the kitchen. I feel this way only because it is a tile floor. To me, a wood floor is neutral and goes with everyting, but a tile floor makes a statement....See MoreOK, is this *the tile* for me -opinions please???
Comments (40)nightowlrn - thanks for photoshopping the glass mosaic tiles. I like the how the tiles look with the cabinets, but I am not sure if they really work with the granite. Do you have any pictures of neutral glass tiles, maybe in clear or light gray in color? Jodi - I found a couple of photos of the Mandorla tiles online. I think these pictures are more representative of how the tiles look in person. I hope they help with the color correction. blondelle - I just started a new thread asking about glass subway tiles. (I am sure everyone is fed up of my pleas for tile advice by now...) DH and I have been avoiding glass subway tiles, but it might be time that we reconsider. If you have recommendations for a light gray or clear/whitish glass tiles in 3 x 6 or similar, please let me know!...See MoreWhat do you think about my brick/tile fireplace?
Comments (6)Is that a porcelain tile on the hearth? To my eye, it's the juxtaposition of that brick and tile that is so unpleasant and jarring, not either one by itself. The brick and mortar does look pretty dirty, and the contrast between the white wall and the brick seems too harsh. Are you planning to paint the wall? In our last house, we had dark red brick that I actually liked. But the PO had painted the room a pale yellow. I chose a deep red that complemented the brick and we loved that room. Before: After: If you're planning to paint the walls, I might wait on the brick until you decide about a wall color. Walls are easy to paint and repaint, but painted brick is forever. But there is still the problem of the brick surround and tile hearth. One or the other doesn't quite seem right. Gray painted brick might work with the tile, but does it work with your furniture and decor? Is the gray tile even a shade you like?...See MoreHello, what budget vanity do you think will best pair with my tile
Comments (4)If you are selling, you should be just sprucing up so that things look clean and uncluttered, but not “knocking out closets“, and definitely not ”renovating the house” with new floors. First, changing out floors is a big stressful job. Second, lifting an old floor can open a can of worms that could really mess you up. Third, the floor you pick will not match what buyers might like - it’s best to price the home with the current floors in mind, and let the new owners install the floor they want. Fourth—and most important—you will not recoup in the sale price what you spent on “renovating the house”. Here is a screenshot of the floors you linked. That gray stripey look is dated several years already. One reason it got dated so fast is that it is very difficult to match wall paint, upholstery, counter, and cabinet finishes to it, nearly impossible. Don‘t install this. Just leave your floors as is and price your home accordingly....See Moredaisychain Zn3b
