At 10.6-4.4-1.7 NPK %s its pretty high in P and quite low in K for houseplants, but it's still a so-so fertilizer and a better choice than any of the fertilizers with P (the middle number) as the highest %. How you fertilize to get the most out of your plants depends on your soil and watering habits. If you water in sips, you might fertilize at low doses infrequently - like maybe every month or so. If you flush the soil regularly when you water, it would be more appropriate to fertilize more frequently at higher doses. W/o some knowledge of the type of soil you're using and some knowledge of how you water, no one can really give you any meaningful advice. It took quite a bit of looking to determine the NPK %s of the fertilizer, but I have no idea what other nutrients it contains. It's important that your plant gets all the nutrients essential to growth - do you have any information that points to its complete nutrient content? It's NPK %s indicate it would be ok for any of your plants, but for the slow growers you might want to cut back on the concentration. It's just another soluble fertilizer, cut from the same cloth as Miracle-Gro, Peters, Schultz, and others. Tell me how you water and I should be able to give you a dosage that will work. Al

Are your plants potted or in the ground? What climate are you in (hint to fill out your zone info)? Hard to answer questions without basic info. Palms have some pretty specific nutritional needs so I would always go with a food formulated with that in mind.

i agree with the posters above...supervised visitation ONLY!! it exists for a reason. also, pull out your calendar and start documenting everything-get copies of the phone bills, cell phone statements, any money that changed hands, when BM called, came over, took the kiddos, anything you can remember and start keeping a journal. also, if you guys are in the habit of texting, type them out and keep a file of them (some cell phone companies can print them off for you, but i think there's a time limit, like only the ones from the past 30 days or so.) keep audio recordings of any voicemails and print off your emails. i've discovered that attorneys and judges love paperwork-and any work you can save your attorney from doing is money saved. also, i would buy a little digital recorder that can be put in your pocket and keep it handy, in your purse or whatever, and record any exchanges of the kids, any more encounters with the ahole boyfriend, etc. if it were me i'd have the cops on the phone the minute he sets foot on your driveway-should he have the balls to show up again. the police are there for a reason. and fill in the school FOR SURE!! you can't be too careful. a judge may grant you emergency temporary custody...probably worth checking into. the one nice thing about the parents that choose to show up three or four times a year (especially if they have a shady past or are participating in stuff that's not completely on the up and up, like drugs, etc.) is that they hate being in the courtroom. she may not even show up and they you'd get custody by default. also, go for the gusto when you petition for custody. physical and legal, all decision making privileges, demand random drug testing, the whole nine yards. that way if she does want to play ball you have some room for negotiation and still get everything you need to keep the kids safe. hope that helps!! good luck!!

Our little guy is definitely a blessing. He has not complicated our blended family life in the least. If anything, he is the tie that binds us all together. Having said that, I need to add that there have been no sibling rivalries among our kids because they are sufficiently spaced apart in age (SS20, SS17, DD14, DD10 and darling son, 5). It also helps in our situation that although my daughters look just like me (dark and slender), our little boy looks just like his dad and brothers (fair, with blue eyes). In fact, when my SS17 was a little boy, he had red hair, just like our 5 yo, and people comment on how much he looks like this brother or that brother. When SS17 was away at rehab for six months, he consistently told his therapists he wanted to be clean so that he could be a good role model for younger sisters and brother, and that he missed his baby brother the most of anyone. As to whether or not I would be as fulfilled ... well, if I didn't have him, I wouldn't know what I was missing. But I honestly believe that he, more than anything else DH and I could have done, is the reason all of our kids think of us as "family." They always introduce each other as "my brother" or "my sister," they don't make the "step" distinction, and they don't think of our family as "mom's husband and his kids," or "dad's wife and her kids." I do think DH and I have a "connection" we wouldn't have if we hadn't been through a birth of a child together, as well as raising "our" child. And I am probably a better stepmom for it, because my older boys are not just DH's sons, but they are also brothers to my bio kids. I wish you luck with this complicated decision.
