Hope I am able to successfully attach the link to the pics of my current kitchen. We have always hated the glazed cabinets and want a more modern look. Without replacing, painting appears to be our only option. We will replace the hardware with sleek stainless probably brushed. We are also replacing the sink with a stainless and getting new appliances- Jenn Air Euro Style. Replacing the can lights with pendants over the island. Walls are SW 6124 Cardboard. Tested SW6121 Whole Wheat and 6122 Camelback but also thinking about grey. Any suggestions? Thank you!!!! please excuse the messy kitchen! these pics were taken during the holidays. There really is no substitute for seeing the potential choices in the actual space because the way the light plays in your kitchen won't be just the same as someone else's. Ex: we thought the blue-gray we used in our north facing LR would also be good in our north facing MBR. Nope, it was terrible even though the LR is our favorite color choice in the house. You don't have to stick paint chips on your new walls, though. Our local BM paint store carries "paint chip" boards that are meant to be painted with your test colors and leaned up against the wall. I think you could do the same thing by going to Michael's and buying a sheet of foamboard and cutting it up. Bound to be a lot less expensive. A bonus is that you could prepare these boards now using a variety of colors. They can be placed in the kitchen with samples of your floor, cabs, and counter for decision making. In the end, money spent on paint samples is well worth the cost.

saypoint, I was thinking about painting the walls some neutral shade but I am not completely set on that. I am open to trying out some bright color. I was thinking about BM Silver Fox or Revere Pewter both of which are very popular on this forum. My home has an open floor plan and I can't find other colors which I can use in the adjoining spaces with these colors. Regarding the curtains you see in the photo's, they are the old curtains which the previous owners left behind. My new curtains are in the fabric sample that I have in one of the photo's and they are grommet top which will go up on curtain rods. Unfortunately I already have them made (though I do agree that they are more classic looking than modern) but have spent a fortune on them already and don't have the budget to change them at this moment. The new curtains will go up after the paint is done. Also, the new curtains will go on much higher almost under the crown molding. sloyd, I think hillside green looks pretty. I would either lean to the bottom row left hand side for a more monochromatic look like boysrus2 said or, the natural stain for more contrast. My wood floors(that I am keeping) are close to the natural color in your sample. My island(as of today and subject to change) will be a quartersawn oak in natural and my perimeter cabs will be black(also subject to change). So my contrast will be the black and natural floor. If you go with the natural floor, both your colors will contrast vs. only the island if you stain the floors similar to your perimeter cabs. Are there any easy decisions?? LOL!!
