Post a picture, Rosemary. Without sunlight, these plants will struggle. Also, they need to be kept moist or they will drop leaves. I made that mistake when I started growing these. I treated them like other succulents, withholding water indoors during the winter, and mine dropped all their leaves. It wasn't until I began keeping them consistently watered that they thrived indoors. Josh

My Banana's (Musa Basjoo) were fine outside this year and came back beautifully. I would say try to keep them above freezing. I did have 2 pups I put in my greenhouse, and they grew slowly all winter. The one outside died back and came back in the spring. My Dwarf Cavendish, I overwintered in the house, will put on my deck over the summer in a pot. I lost a Ice Cream Banana to cold, and none of my EE's made it. So I'm having to change up the EE plan this year. But as long as you don't drop below freezing, you should be fine. We had an unusually cold winter here this year, quite a few nights in the teens and even single digits.

I dont know who will ever read this, but I accidentally snapped a small trunk from my elephant ear plant. I removed as much of the rotting bits from the end and said screw it, ill shove it into a small pot of fresh growth medium ~2-4 inches deep. (I only had my 50/50 soil & peatmoss mix). I left it on the patio for a couple of rainy days and BAM, it began rooting again at the base. two weeks later its grown another two leaves and a new daughter plant has sprouted next to the trunk. when in doubt, shove it back the dirt and see what happens!
