Yeah, I don't know what happened to that. You can cut and past the title and put it in the search engine and the time will show up to the right. (21d 3h 44m -right now).

It could be something with your settings and what you want to show (but I don't think so). Not sure why that info doesn't come up there. I had noticed it the other day but was in a rush and thought I just didn't find it.

Oh, if you cut and paste and put it in the search, and the time still doesn't come up, you can add that to show there. Hit the "customize view" icon just above the item and to the right side and add view time left.

The main reason the "time left" isn't shown is because it's not an auction, but a "buy it now" item.

Yes, it's awfully small, and faded, I'm sure. It would be nice to have, but for not very much money. I have some similar memorabilia of his. I have no idea what "lg" means. Certainly not "large." LOL

I found it because I have a standing search request on eBay for any items that contain the word Luckstone, and also one for "Alice Campbell," my grandmother (his wife) and also an opera singer. A different Alice Campbell was a novelist from around the time time period, so unfortunately I get notifications whenever her books are listed on eBay. But no big deal.

I bought another picture of my grandfather on eBay--not his most flattering, but an interesting photo. I also found a listing that claimed to be selling a photo of Harry Luckstone, but it wasn't him. I wrote to the seller, who ignored me. ;-)

I think "lg" MIGHT mean lithograph.

If you just want to have the picture of him and not have it be a print why not just save the picture or copy the picture and paste in an email to yourself or a word doc?

That's still strange that Buy it Now's don't have ending times listed... because there is in fact an ending time for the listing and it's listed in other places just not on the main info page.

The only appeal of the one on eBay is that it's cut from a magazine--and that's not really a big draw. I would have snatched it up, though, if I didn't have to watch my spending.

I have one of my grandfather and grandmother in a horse drawn carriage, I was just a baby when my grandmother died so I do not remember her at all. But in that picture she was young probably late 20's early 30's and the first time I saw it I thought it was me and I asked how did someone put me in that picture? My mother laughed and said it is not you it is your grandmother. Just amazing.

That is why I like the Reminice magazines. So far I have not found anyone I know, but did find someone living in a town in AZ that my grandparents used to live in when they were alive. She was requesting a tomato dumpling soup receipe and I did find a couple that were similar to what she wanted. Also sent letter to see if she knew my grandparents.
If any one wants me to watch for a certain name, let me know, and I will try to do so. (and where they might have lived) It is fun seeing so many things I remember as a child.

Wow--that's an old thread, Raven! It's no wonder I'd forgotten about it. I didn't look at the date (2006) until I read that I didn't have a scanner. I've scanned a lot of negatives and pictures since then. Thanks for posting the link!

There's a lot more stuff on the Internet about Harry Luckstone's brother, Isidore. He was a renowned accompanist (piano) and composer. I've printed out some of his music, and listened to a recording of him accompanying a soprano. The recording was made in 1905.

I could be wrong about this, but I'm thinking the newspaper you have might deteriorate faster than the magazine picture. Just thinking of the longevity of the pics in case you have interested family members--kids, grandkids, etc.

It's true--all the newspaper stuff is very fragile. I have everything scanned, photographed, digitized, copied, whatever. I sometimes wish I were as well preserved. LOL
