eBay sellers..photo question...

Have decided to take the leap and try selling some things on eBay....am not sure about the photo side of selling...do I have to put my photos in an online site or can I just download them from my computer onto the eBay site? I'm sure it tells somewhere on their site about it, but want to have "my ducks in a row" when I try it the first time. thanks for any advice!

If you put your photos on using an online site you and make them part of your listing, you can add as many as you want and not have to pay anything for extra photos. I haven't sold on ebay for a long time but I used to do my own aucion templates and use photos from my picture trail account.
It only requires a little html knowledge to do them this way.

I didn't know that, Jenni. Do you just put the html code into your listing as you do on GardenWeb?

I ususally just put in one picture which I have on my computer. Have never used a site like photobucket or whatever.

Good luck selling. I have two things listed now and no interest yet. I never sell anything worth much and by the time I pay the fees, I don't make much either. It's basically just a way of recycling stuff and making a couple bucks.

I posed you question to DS who has a lot of EBay experience and here is his answer . It is all Greek to me but maybe you'll understand it in any event a good telephone number to have on hand "Either she needs to cancel the listing early and lose the insertion fee and then reload the listing with the correct amount or let the listing run it's course and start a new listing when the old listing ends. Have her call eBay 866-643-2959 if she doesn't have a telephone ID already she will have to recreate one to get customer service."

If you add it to your "watch" list, you will be able to see the time left for the listing. It really is small in size, isn't it?. Why didn't I think of that?? (Because I have the KT, and I'm spoiled.) Yes, it's awfully small, and faded, I'm sure. It would be nice to have, but for not very much money. I have some similar memorabilia of his. I have no idea what "lg" means. Certainly not "large." LOL I found it because I have a standing search request on eBay for any items that contain the word Luckstone, and also one for "Alice Campbell," my grandmother (his wife) and also an opera singer. A different Alice Campbell was a novelist from around the time time period, so unfortunately I get notifications whenever her books are listed on eBay. But no big deal. I bought another picture of my grandfather on eBay--not his most flattering, but an interesting photo. I also found a listing that claimed to be selling a photo of Harry Luckstone, but it wasn't him. I wrote to the seller, who ignored me. ;-)

Questions (Lowered Peninsula, eBay Sink)

Thanks for the feedback all. I am thinking about doing the entire area lowered. We have 3 small kids (our oldest turns 4 in July) so we like the idea of table height seating, and now that I added legs I really like the expansive workspace for rolling dough, making cookies, a serving buffet etc. It's funny because a long time ago buehl suggested this (all one level) and I didn't listen. But now that I know what I didn't like about most of the one level peninsulas I had seen was the lack of legs, routed edges or at least interesting corbels, I'm fully onboard with the one level plan. I'm worried that if I don't have enough difference in height between the normal counters and the lowered counter it will look like a mistake or the cabinets will look bizarre next to each other. I will mock it up though. How hard is it to find chairs like that? Would our local woodshop (which we love, shout out for Stillwater Wood & Iron, Stillwater NY) have cut to height chairs? I will measure our working heights when I get home, well mostly my wife's. I only cook seriously when she is pregnant so it's mostly her domain. And we are planning this to mostly be a cookie/baking/chopping area, because at least for me I think I would gravitate towards doing prep to the right of the stove. And I think I'm passing on the sink. Driving 6 hours for a possibly shady sink is not worth it. I just needed to sleep on it. But hey if anyone is closer to Danbury(?) CT, go look on eBay for a waterworks sink, $450 is a good deal if you are close by.

I thought the last time I listed on EBay I posted the photos directly from my PC.

I do what Jenni describes, using my Photobucket account for eBay. With an eBay listing, the first picture is free, so I take advantage of that. I think that picture can come from your computer or an online site. If I have other photos, I just add them to the bottom of my description (from Photobucket), using the HTML tab and typing in HTML code.

I'm not selling anything at the moment, but my DD plans to haul some items over here one of these days, so that may change. I'm still selling books on Amazon, though.

I use my pc photo's when I list a item. Its very easy, ebay has changed quite a few things in the past year, they only allow a few ways to pay now.
I just listed a purse organizer, have a look.

I use Picasa and I love it. Just go to picasa.com and download it. At ebay selling, when you get to the prompt, add pictues, just click on browse and then open picasa
click on your picture and press okay and it will be in the ebay listing. I usually use just two so it will load fast for the buyers. Once you do it once you'll have the hang of it. Enjoy selling on Ebay, it's very addictive.
