I wore my wedding rings constantly, until I broke my wrist in September and had to take them off. I put them in a jar in my
china cabinet. I was house sitting for a friend who was on an extended vacation, and I thought...I really should bring those rings over here. Too late. That very night before, a guy who had worked for me on numerous occasions, came into my house and stole them. I have tried and tried to find them. I am still just sick over it.

My plain wedding band and my "Mom" ring never leave my left hand, nor does my "Mother" necklace ever leave my neck. My diamonds I do remove in the winter as my fingers seem to get skinnier and I fear losing them. If I am cleaning with harsh chemicals or mixing a meatloaf, I will remove my rings until the job is done, then they go right back on. When hospitalized and having to remove jewelry, my husband holds them until I am fully awake.

No, I took my wedding rings off about a year after my husband died - they are in a fire-proof lock box, and will remain there until I die, at which time my kids will get them. I rarely wear other rings, but when I do, it's just for a special occasion, then back into the lock box.

Because I have lymphedema on my left side I cannot wear my rings there. DH bought me a necklace and I put my rings on it and wear the necklace all of the time.

I wear my wedding band all the time.

I need a new setting for the engagement ring, so that's in the drawer right now, but eventually it will be back on my finger too.

Speaking of taking your wedding rings off after your husband has died, my sister took hers off and had them made into a cocktail ring as she calls it. I don't know why she wouldn't have given them to her only married daughter! She did that after she started going with her "boyfriend" a year later. Sounds strange to me.

I wear my rings anytime that I leave the house but as soon as I get home, I take off my rings and earrings. I also like changing clothes as soon as I get home. I guess taking off the jewelry and changing into comfortable clothes just makes it feel as if I'm "off duty."

I wear three rings including my wedding ring and never take them off except for cleanings.

My husband is an insurance agent and over the years he's had numerous claims from women who take their rings off in bathrooms (home and public restrooms) when they wash their hands. They then walk away forgetting about the ring or it falls down the drain. As such, I always leave my rings on when I wash my hands.

I do clean and polish my rings often so they don't get gunky.

When I was married, my then hubby gave me wedding ring that was a wider band, set with diamonds and sapphires. I wore it when I left the house, but didn't wear it at home.

I'm living with my sweetie now, no rings to worry about.

I hate seeing chefs on tv wear their rings when they work with food. Much as I like Guy Fiera, he's one of the worst.

No I don't wear mine all the time. I do too much manual labor and could get a ring caught on something. Rather have all 10 fingers. Love to garden in the spring and the dirt gets caught in the prongs or the prongs bend, so off they go again. I cherish my rings so I take them off, especially when I'm working at the green house in town.
I do like to wear them out in public or when I'm working at school.

I wear all of my 'valuable' jewelry all the time. I have one ring that is in our lock box, but otherwise it is on me. I did leave all my rings off most of this fall/winter, as I was VERY diligent about hand sanitizer...just couldn't get sick around the wedding and it continued after, so my hands were EXTREMELY dry!

Mine don't come off.

No jewelry--metal allergies. Still wear earrings (my ears aren't pierced, though) occasionally, because I'm vain :-)

i used to when i was married until one day at work i almost had my finger ripped off that ended that! a skidder/dozer cable is unforgiving! never did that again. my fingers are so small any ring i wear has yarn wrapped around it. i am also into gardening and dirt and such and they would get all yukked up. i also never wore them mixing meatloaf either. this was weird me and my neice were just talking about this the other day!

My wedding ring is stuck on my finger, I can't get it off! I stopped wearing my engagement ring when the diamond fell out of it. I keep it in my jewelry box. P.s. I found the diamond. DH had it remounted but I'm afraid it might fall out again.

I put my wedding rings on in the morning and take them off in the evening.

I don't wear them to sleep or do housework or gardening. My mother never took her band off (and rarely her diamond). She once told me she never saw the engraving inside it because she never once took it off. She was cremated with the band off (my father wears the diamond, in a ring we had made for him). But her band was plain, mine have little stones, they would be a mess if I wore them all the time.

All my rings are on a cute little holder on the bathroom shelf I hardly wear any kind of jewelry anymore although I still have them in their boxes

My engagement and wedding rings were the most precious (material) things I had. I lost the set from the engagement ring and stopped wearing it.

After my DH died, I felt strange wearing a wedding ring. It said I was married, but I wasn't. My DD had given me a Mothers ring several years before, so I started wearing it on my left hand. Still do depending on the weather and how my arthritic fingers feel.

It is a very personal, individual decision.

Just my plain wedding band. I really don't like wearing any other rings. I like the plain one because I can forget I'm wearing it.

The diamonds in the other one get in the way. I tried wearing a ring that had lots of complicated little doo-dads in it, and soap and hand lotion always got clogged up in the doo-dads....just a pain.

My engagement diamond and wedding band are one piece. I take it off before bed and put it on first thing in the morning. I'm sure happy I was wearing it in the bathtub the evening the burglar came into our house and stole all the rest of the jewelry I had at home!

DH had gone out to walk the dog and left the garage door open. It had to be someone who knew I took a bath after dinner some nights and was watching. Awful to think that he/she knew that, and was IN MY HOUSE while I was there! It's been a few years, but I still feel 'violated'.

Just my plain wedding band. The diamond needs new prongs, so I don't wear it. Plus I had to have them resized a few years ago and the diamond was sized just a bit smaller than the wedding band and it is just a bit too tight.

No,all my jewelry is in a safe deposit box at bank.

Yes - rarely take them off except to clean them or if my hands are really dry and I put heavy duty lotion on at night.

I do have a diamond and emerald ring that I don't wear all the time since emeralds are more fragile.

I wear all my good jewelry regularly - no safety deposit box for me.

Haven't worn my wedding/engagement rings for many years. I do treasure them, of course, but I'm very hard on jewelry, do a lot of crafts and cooking, and they just get in the way. My MIL used to bug me about it, asking "How will men know you're married?" (she always thought every woman was going to be hit on by every man she passed on the street). Told her, "it doesn't matter if they know I'm married or not, I know I'm married and it's the promises that I made to my husband that make me married, not those rings"

I use to wear them all the time then gained some weight and they were too small.Kept thinking I'd have them sized but put it off because I was trying to lose weight.Put them in my jewelry box.Someone took them and pawned them,along with DH's matching wedding band.I found out where they were and went to get them and they wanted Almost $500. for them! So I put them on lay away and had paid over $350. on them.Went to get them and the pawn shop had changed hands and the new owner had sold them.Made me sick! Not only did I lose the rings but lost what I had already paid on them. So I really don't have a wedding set now.I do have a blue topaz and sterling silver set that looks like an wedding band and engagement ring.I also have a silver band with Dolphins on it that I wear on my left thumb and a silver fillagree dome ring that I wear on my right hand but wear them only when I go out.

My DH bought me a lovely set when he asked me to marry him. Diamonds. We were engaged for about 4 years. When we finally set our date we went to find him a ring. I fell in love with a plain gold band that matched his. So, we bought it. I wear the band rather than the diamond as I worked in a garden center and in the greenhouse. I have a new ring with emeralds and diamonds that I wear with my wedding band when we go out, but I don't wear it a lot. I also still wear the same gold chain I got for my 16th birthday. Just the charm has changed.

Never take them off! Only to clean them. I wear my engagement ring, my wedding ring and two diamond rings that we my Grandmothers. If I took them off I would be sure to misplace them. I feel safer having them on my fingers! And besides I love them and love wearing them.

The only rings I wear are my wedding and engagement rings and I wear them alll the time...unless I have to put on gloves for garden work (and that is only if I am working with stickers and such because the ring turns and cuts my finger)....Stacy

Yes, usually I do. I also wear my gold nugget on a necklace all the time.

However, I just realized, the ring was getting thin again, on the palm side of the hand. Thus, I was going to leave it with a jeweler friend of ours, to get it fixed. I checked my nugget, and saw, the loop it hangs on the necklace with is also thin, VERY thin, and left it to.

Sooo, I feel sort of naked. :)

Yes unless Im doing something that might damage them I have diamond,a big past present,future ring,and anniversary band on left on right my old wedding band and my mothers diamond she had made .wear them 24-7.Ive worn moms ring for 35 years since she died.

I used to ,but like Heather i too have lymphadema on my right side,so that hand swells.But i lost 47 # during chemo so all my other rings just fall off my fingers now.Guess i need to shop for new ones.
