Oh thanks everyone! I can not WAIT to show you the pictures of the rock. It looks so good. They drilled the well and it was neat to watch. They went 450 feet and hit a cavern another so many feet, I can'remember! Then they put all the pipe down and tomorrow they are dropping the pump and putting in the storage tank. Then we will have water :-) Kats - Thanks for the tip! We are getting a sediment filter, some other filter, gosh I got so much information today it is all blending. We also are getting a 2500 gallon storage tank since the water is going to smell and by settling in the tank it will take the smell away. The electrical guy was a real jerk to us. He didn't speak a word to DH or me. I guess he was putting a play scape together this weekend and drilled to the bone in his finger. I felt really bad but our GC said he should have gotten the job done last week when he said it would be done. Anyway, he took off right after we got there and never came back....everything was just sitting there in the house so I am thinking maybe he left to get supplies and lunch?!?!? Who knows. It will get done though. He was suppose to finish two weekends ago and then he said it would be done by last Monday. So, tomorrow the sheet rock will be delivered and the A/C guy will be there. oh wow- here is the system my DD H.S. used. It can be hectic but did work. Get plain paper bags -grocery size. Number them. Put long tables as a work space and also to keep the students on one side and the adults and bags on the other side. Be sure the bags are in numerical order in and then break them into 4 to 6 piles with a couple of adults working each pile. Now when the student comes up you put all of their belonging into a numbered bag-frequently friends or couples want to share a bag. You put the bag's number on a piece of paper and hand it to them and you ALSO ask them if you can magic marker it somewhere on their arm (usually the guys but the girls like it on their palm). Then you line the bags up behind the tables on the floor. So- if you had 200 students you will have around 140-160 bags. Make you rows about 30 long and have about 5 rows. I think it would be helpful to have a sign on the floor and on the back wall giving the numbers that should be in each row. IF they do get out of order then you need only seach 30 numbers not all 160 to find the bag. Yes, the clothes get wrinkled. Yes, they come back again and again and ask for their bag to get a cell phone out or their comb. The important thing is that the bag is handed to them to get their own item out and then it is PUT BACK in numerical order. Yes the adults are exhausted by the end of the evening and there are always a couple of confused/lost bags. It is crazy at the very end and you need to make sure that the students do not break rank and come behind the table. It is a tried and true system as long as the adults maintain control. DD usually had 350-500 at a dance. Only once was it too difficult and that was a prom and the space we had was to narrow and the kids all crowded the tables and there was too much going on in too small of a space. And then one adult will try to change the system mid-way with a "better idea" (and I am sure there are some but let's wait till next time). Anyway-this is the only way I have seen it done. Good luck! It is loads of work but so much fun to see the students and to be helpful. Most are very polite although some forget their "pleases and thank-you's" but a little nudge usually reminds them. Hope this was helpful! I thought this system was nuts the first time I worked coats-but it does work.

BWAA! I didn't post the last little adventure in glitchen dancing. After the fridge episode, which was fixed quite successfully, we install the oven. Big panic day - it was a Friday, and we were moving in on Sat, so lots of activity at the house as everyone tried hard to get things finished for us. Stove gets installed. I look over and say "don't tell me". Cabinet guy looks at me with a scared look on his face and says cautiously... "what?". So I walk over to the drawers that are 90 degrees to the oven (we decided to write off the corner in favour of big drawers), and... they won't open!! Yes, we left a filler, but it wasn't enough... So they had to take out that bank of drawers and rebuild them - with the countertop installed, of course. I seriously think my KD totally ignored my appliance specs. So we move in with the drawers that are to take the kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and baking sheets, not there. So we ate out for a couple of weeks then went on vacation :) Things are pretty much done now (although when we came back from vacation on Sunday the final set of drawer fronts were on, however they've taken two cabinet doors off that have been on for weeks and I have NO clue why) and I was able to unpack the final two kitchen boxes last night. That felt good! Just some minor tweaking left - door alignment, decorative piece over vent hood, a shelf missing etc. Then it turns over to me to pick pendants, light for eat in area, and cushion fabric for banquette, to really get the place finished. Pretty things I just couldn't deal with when I was up to my earballs in the structural stuff, plus I wanted to see the finished product before choosing some of these elements. Aren't you glad you asked? :) Dianalo, you are definitely doing the right thing by being present. Even if you don't catch problems, if they know they'll see you at some point they may wait to confirm things, or suggest better/different ways to do things. You'll probably find you don't have to be there a lot. Good to hear things are going well for you, Florantha and hellonasty (did your appliances go in smoother than mine??) - I've been away from this site for a couple of weeks while on vacation, so feel soooo far behind! Allie, yes, we need our kitchens before school!!

The next thing that will make me giddy is demo, but that is a few weeks out. They have to break up our patio, pour new foundations and frame/enclose the extension before they take our back walls down. The kitchen and bathroom demo will be so satisfying ;) I watch Extreme makeover from time to time and am as jealous of the demo phase as the reveal, lol. Now, I need to take some of the planning energy I have been using and start to pack up our main level. We have approx 3 weeks before we need to be down in the bsmt, but between working and family life, it will be a lot of work to get that done!
