Casey, it's huge! It's really only 30 feet long, but it's pretty intimidating to me. I haven't gotten to ride in it yet. I followed DH home with it. It has the same engine in it that our truck had, that we towed the trailer with. It sounds like it will get about the same mileage as we did when we towed the trailer. 8-10 mpg. We had half a tank when we left the dealership, about 45 miles from us. We stopped and filled up before the gas price went up. $160! It has a 75 gallon tank. DH was fussing about how much gas was going to cost us. I told him if he stopped and figured up how much we paid for gas every day when we traveled with the car at each fill up, we probably spent close to the same amt. Especially if we drove my SUV. One tank should last us one day, where if we drove anything else, we would be filling up 3-4 times.

Joann, we posted at the same time! If we get that direction, I'll let you know. We will be going thru KS on our trip to Utah, as we are going to stop and see DH's family along the way. I'm not sure what route that will take us, but I'll let you know. Can you email me your phone number, please? I don't know what kind of internet service we'll have along the way.

At least with this, we can sleep in our own bed at night, and only pay for a campsite, which is usually cheaper than a room. I can use my own bathroom, my own shower, ect. And I can cook instead of eating out every day. But, of course, I'll try to get out of that if I can! Not having to cook is almost the best part of traveling!

Tami, you may pay alot for gas, but you don't have to pay for a hotel room. LOL! Or eat out, you have your kitchen with you.

I know your not suppose to, but I have actually showered going down the road.

Be sure to travel as light as you can...it saves on gas and wear and tear.

Your Motorhome looks similar to mine. Same color and pattern. Only mine was purchased in 1996 before slides were popular. Main Man wants to size down from 36' to 28' with slides, I tend to agree. Then I can drive it.

It looks great Tami. I know your getting excited to use it. I know when I got my new trailer last summer, I couldn't wait to put my things in it. It was quite a downsize from what I'd had before, but I didn't need a LOT of that 'stuff' I had in the bigger one. Mine has a slide out too, and it makes it so much easier to move around when you have someone in it besides yourself.

Gayle, mine is a Holiday Rambler Admiral SVE 30'. What's yours? I'm going to try to learn to drive it. I am terrible at navigating, so DH has to do both if he is driving. He's talking about getting a program to put on my laptop to turn it into a talking big screen gps.

This sure is a tacky picture to post, but this is my 36' Wide Body Gulfstream on a Ford Chassy

Shorter is better. This one has a Washer/Dryer. Totally unnecessary, because most Parks have Laundry Rooms.

I do want to say that the people in the car behind us on our maiden voyage were kind of surprised to see me flying through the air and landing on the bed (thank goodness lol)you can actually gain air time if you aren't careful. You really really need to practice your "sea legs" lol.

OMG Gale with my luck taking a shower while DH is driving would land me in the middle nekkid....OMG!!! Brave woman you are for sure lol!

Tami they are easy to drive and if I can do it just about anybody can...go to the nearest big parking lot that is empty and practice, it makes it a whole lot easier than driving the first time in traffic.

Anyhow I love the colors on your new home and hope you head my direction sometime soon. ;0)

Beautiful home away from home! I miss our old RV, it wasn't as big as yours but sure was fun having it. The son of the people we bought our farm from in 1980 bought it from us after we moved back here. He fixed it up some more and had it several years and donated it to a church group and last we heard it was being used as a mobile clinic in South America.

Yes, you can drive it. I drove ours from Ca. to Mo. towing our son's car behind it and just knew I was going to run over curbs and such but didn't have any problem.

I won't be showering while DH is driving! I'm hoping I can get him to stop so I can potty. I do have my train legs, tho.

Zipper, I can pull a trailer with my Expedition without problems. I do have a large parking lot across the street, but it's not empty very often.

Donna, glad to know yours is still in use by someone somewhere! Once I get past the intimidation part, I'll be fine until I get in city traffic that I hate at the best of times even with just a regular vehicle!

Stacy, just one long slide. I bought some more stuff for storage today and am slowly getting it stocked. I have containers for rice, ect drying now. Since we are going to be gone for a month shortly, I am going to have to have a better stocked pantry than I usually had in the old camper!
