Yes, we eat a lot of cottage cheese. Mostly with salt and lots of fresh ground pepper. I also eat it with canned fruit, especially with pears. And sometimes I top it with a big spoonful of strawberry or cherry preserves.

C: Salt, pepper, canned cubed pineapple
D: if at salad bar, with a bit of dressing, ranch or honey mustard
E: I've started using it in my lasagne as a healthy alternative to ricotta

I substitute Ricotta with Cottage Cheese also.

I love Cottage Cheese with Peaches, Pears, Pineapple and even Cantaloupe. It makes a great lime jello salad with coconut and pecans. Great now I'm hungry for Jello Salad.

It's okay to me. Only with salt and pepper though...never with any fruit.

I do like cottage cheese but with very little salt and pepper or plain.

I love cottage cheese. I eat it out of the container.

I generally just eat it straight out of the carton! LOL No one else in the family can stand it....except when I put it in lasagna and a jello salad that their grandmother used to make and they loved it!!! Well, until they found out it had cottage cheese in it...now Kalie won't touch it! Silly kid.

I have never had it with salt & pepper...first, I HATE pepper and I don't need the salt...I'll stick with it straight! I like it with pears also.

I use it and ricotta in my lasagna. I like it with bell pepper. I think it takes on whatever flavor you put with it. I wouldn't eat it as a kid, but did after I was 35 or 40.

I like it, but don't eat it that often. I like it with a salad with some of the dressing on it.

In the northeast Hood Milk Co. produces it with black pepper, chives pineapple and they have one called Garden Veg. The only way I can find it here is plain or pineapple so, I make my own. I love fresh chives chopped in cc and put it on crackers. If I'm craving salt I add Mary's Crazy Mixed up Salt.I use it for a dip with fresh veggies as a snack. The plain I like on fruit. DH doesn't care for it sooo it's all mine. Yum

I'm dieting so I eat it everyday. I add pineapple to mine. I've never thought about adding pepper - only fruit.

I like cottage cheese with pepper, doesn't seem to need salt to me. Also with any canned fruit.

I thought I had an "original" idea, but I see Liz also puts it on a baked potato.

Also on a fruit plate, put a scoop of CC in a slice, or half slice, of cantaloupe.

My favorite way to eat cottage cheese is in the summer....with chopped fresh tomato, green peppers, and cucumbers...and a lil season salt....OMG...nothing better or fresher(is that a word?) in the summer!!!

mostly with pineapple. i thnk it depends on where it's made, as to how it tastes. when we lived in ca, it nothing but knudsen's brand. mother finally discovered an off brand at trader joes that was only kind she ate when she moved here...didn't like daisy or store brands.

i'd love to find one with less salt content...

For the person who asked for a jello recipe, here's one. You can substitute different fruits and jello flavors. Try pink or strawberry fluff if you don't like orange.

Lime Salad
1 sm. pkg. lime Jello
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
1 sm. can crushed pineapple (drained)
1 sm. carton cottage cheese
1/4 c. chopped pecans
1/4 c. coconut

Drain pineapple and mix dry Jello into pineapple. Add cottage cheese, pecans,cocnut and fold Cool Whip into mixture. Chill.

cottage cheese with pineapple tidbits and crackers
cottage cheese with chopped tomatoes, onions, lots of pepper with cracker.

And I love clafoutti with cottage cheese, my way.

I love it, and every once in a while put cranberry sauce over it. I also have a cucumber jello salad that has cottage cheese in it, and I really love that.

I love it with peaches or bananas and perhaps a few rasins, crasins, or currants.

An unusual but extremely tasty way is to have cottage cheese with pineapple chunks and sprinkle shredded cheddar on top.

My very favorite is with hard boiled egg and home grown vine-ripened tomatoes--a little of each with each bite.

With bananas? Raisins? That sounds good!
I am with Sue and eat it on cantelope but mine is sprinkled with a little cinnamon.
One way I won't eat it is in jello. I don't like cheeses and sweets mixed (like cheescake)

Never heard of it with with salt and pepper! I love it with any kind of fruit, my favorite is pears, or just plain. I also have used it in lasagna.

And I have a fantastic recipe for Cottage Cheese Pancakes. They are like cheese blintzes. DH and DS love them. They are great with maple syrup or jam.

Cottage Cheese Pancakes

In a blender add:
1 cup creamstyle cottage cheese
6 large eggs (5 jumbo)
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup oil (or melted butter)
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbls. sugar or honey
1/2 tsp vanilla (optional)

Blend at high speed for 1 minute or until well blended. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake on hot griddle. Can also be used for waffles.

I like mine with applesauce.

with any kind of fruit or a tablespoon of raspberry jam

with granola and maple syrup

Love it with salt,pepper,& chopped fresh tomatoes.Also with pineapple.

I also like it with a little salt and pepper as a side dish with fresh sliced tomatoes and a pan grilled lean ground beef pattie,cooked crispy brown on the outside.A bite of meat topped with the cottage cheese and followed by a bite of tomato.LOL DH will not eat CC,says it is clabbered milk.LOL All my kids,and some of the grands kids love it. My mother use to cook apples and raisins in a little sugar and add it to the CC.My kids loved it.I never liked it because I'm not crazy about raisins cooked in anything.My youngest son(age 30)called me a couple of weeks ago and asked how Grandmother cooked those apples and raisins for the cottage cheese.He wanted some.LOL She's been gone 4 years.

No. Put it in lasagna sometimes but would never eat it by itself.

I some times get in the mood for it. When I do eat it I put pepper on it. Some times I will eat it with jelly, my sister told me about that once and I thought she was nuts until I tried it.

You couldn't pay me to eat that stuff. I have never had it but I hate it. Something abou the way it looks and the texture. It reminds me of curdled milk.

Can't stand the looks or taste of it...DH loves it!

Yes, I ike it, but just a small amount. I mix it in my oatmeal each morning. My favorite is Darigold's nonfat. Some are just too tangy.
