There is a reason for my question.....I HAVE it now!! I haven't been this sick in years! 101° temp, aches like you wouldn't believe, can't keep anything in me (both ways)...except for sips of ginger ale. Started at 4 yesterday afternoon, counted down the minutes until I could go home. NOT a good night. Yes, I am whining!

Yes I had a variation of "it". From mid-to-late January for almost 3 weeks...the worst abdominal pain I've ever experienced. I was ready to go to the hospital until I heard a radio personality mention his symptoms, which matched mine.

Please stay huddled at home and take care of yourself. Oh, and do not try to introduce normal food into your belly for awhile, even if you feel good!

Yes and it was awful. I lost 8 lbs. and kept a few of them off. Take the advice about the food. EASY does it. A little jello, some Sprite, a few crackers. That's about it. You will live through this, although I know you don't think so!! Good luck!

And like Vannie, when I'm sick, I lose weight..the only good thing about it.

I haven't had an intestinal flu since 2000, when I had a triple whammy of a bacterial throat infection, flu and a sinus infection, all at the same time. Thank goodness for Woody, he took wonderful care of me and kept me alive. After that, I came to realize why people do die from the flu.

I hope you feel better soon, Sandy. Get as much rest as possible. And fluids, lots of clear fluids.

No, but I did have a pretty bad cold. Took me almost 2 wks. to get over it, plus the cough. Everyone but DH was sick in our family, plus the people I work with. Guess I got off easy as my co-workers were really, really sick.

Sandy, I am so sorry you are sick. Do you have any Imodium AD in the house to stop the diarrhea? If not, have Caryn bring you some.

Yes, sure did, while we were on our 26th anniversary trip! Nothing worse than being so sick away from my own bed and bathroom!

No. I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with this. My sister got it on Sunday & my DH has had it. It was the sickest that I have ever seen him. The dr. told me to try to avoid at all costs.

Nope..haven't had anything more serious than a sniffle for years and years. I can't imagine why..except that I am never around schoolkids,who collect spreadable germs like they were valuable!

I had it the week after Christmas. I was sooooo sick!

No, I think I have iron guts. Nothing ever bothers my gut. But I've had three colds (and bronchitis twice). My niece had a stomach virus so bad, she vomited a lot, got dehydrated and was hospitalized nearly a week. She's home now and just starting to eat again.

Thank Goodness, no. I probably shouldn't say this, but I have only had the flu twice in my life and they were many years ago. I finally decided to get the flu shot this year for the first time mainly because of my age now. Sometimes I wonder if teaching all those years boosted my immune system. I never even get colds.
