bradisha, The first pic I leave to our ID experts on GW,but the second pic looks like its Aechmea mariae-reginae,to me. If so,it could be the male plant.You can compare yours with the photos on FCBS. There is a possibility it could also be Aechmea bromeliifolia,which has a banded type leaf (can't quite see enough of the leaves of the blooming plant,but if that's a pup of it in front,that has the leaf banding I mean.This species is also fairly variable in shape. 1st choice--mariae-reginae 2nd choice-bromeliifolia Any others have something 'for sure' ? We are doing a built-in banquette as part of our kitchen reno and absolutely LOVE the table on page 70 of the Aug. 2007 issue of Better Homes & Gardens. Naturally, I quick-turn to the back "Resources" section to find out where I can get it and WHAT??!!! It's not there! In fact, the Resources skip right over all the goodies on pages 68-76!! I absolutely LOVE this table. It's exactly what I had in mind for my banquette. WAAAHHHH! Anyone help me? Pretty please... Thanks, dmoh P.S. If those marks are depressions, then I think that an owner made these marks with a punch. Its rather crudely done. If instead, these marks are raised, then those were likely in the casting mold and were cast. It appears to be a casting instead a machined part. There could be a mark hidden under the lever. Open it to find out. However, if you find a trademark on this piece, realize that it is a piece of hardware and may carry the trademark of the hardware maker instead of the furniture maker. Look elsewhere for the furniture maker's mark. His mark may be an ink stamp. If the maker's mark was a pasted-on paper label, it could have yellowed with age and is gone.

Nice, and really unique. You will just have to keep your eyes open for something that will work with that. Take the measurements down for what will work, you may get lucky and find something. The mirrors got separated on those vanities for hanging separately or just got broken. If you can find something maybe a simple round mirror with a black frame would work hanging on the wall above it. Before you try and strip and refinish check out re-amalgamation of varnish finishes. Google term or go to YouTube. Hint, if you can use this technique do it with a light hand if you want to retain patina. Also, don't remove patina from the drawer handles, just remove and give them a good scrub with soap and water. Here is one of many videos...I've used what is called mineral spirits, it's called whatever the guy uses in England, same stuff. Just check out YouTube videos. https://youtu.be/F9SsSF1Qv_Q Maybe not even use steel wool as this guy recommends. First try a gentle approach with a white cotton cloth dipped in mineral spirits. The process basically disolves the varnish, removes some, then the varnish re-hardens/drys. It happens rather quickly too. That is if it's natural varnish that was used, which is more likely than not. Doing a test spot will quickly tell you if it is varnish rather than polyurethane, basically nothing much will happen to finish if poly.
