Thanks David. I worked yesterday so we are having our dinner tonight. Although I'm doing all the cooking, we are actually having dinner next door at Clif's and we have invited three other neighbours to join us. Our turkey is in the oven as I type. A just under 16 pound fresh free range turkey that I presalted Saturday night. I also cooked a small 11 pound turkey this morning as a back up so I would be sure to have lots of breast meat leftover.

Dessert will be Apple Pie and Ice cream and for those that want to be really decadent I've made the caramel sauce to serve with it.

Ann, your apple pie looks so good AND WITH CARAMEL SAUCE, now that is special.

Okay, I just read last weeks TGI post and see most celebrate on Sunday. Mmmmmmm, I'll take both ice cream and the sauce with that pie Ann! Glad to see you and Moe have such great neighbors. I was hoping you would have had a long weekend with no work.

We had a great T-Day here at the cottage. Just 8 of us but food for 20! LOL The weather was perfect, low 70's and a ton of sun. We were even able to have a "party boat" lunch cruise Saturday. I BBQ'd Brats and Burgers on the boat served along with potato salad and slaw.

Sunday's dinner was "same old , same Old " turkey and all the trimmings which seemed fine with everyone!

Today we had the reason for the whole damn meal....turkey and stuffing sandwiches served with this year newly opened dills!!!

Life is good!

It was a beautiful, summer like weekend. We had thanksgiving dinner for my boyfriend's family on Sunday and my folks on Mnoday..our 18 lb. turkey turned out perfectly in our new Capital range..it only took 3 hours to cook in convection. I was very nervous but everything turned out great:)

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all in Canada! Your menus sound amazingly delicious, but the apple pie with caramel sauce would be the first thing I would devour! David, like you, I'd take the ice cream with it too:-) I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful fall weather to the north of us. It's unfortunately 85 degrees here today. Rats.

Happy thanksgiving, very late but no less heartfelt.

Although many of us have trials and tribultations, I think we all still have very much to be thankful for, and I've been reminding myself to not lose sight of that in my daily life.

So, Happy Belated Thanksgiving. Now, Ann, I'd love a piece of that pie, it looks perfect. And I'm also one of the lucky ones who has one of Diana's prints in my home.
