T & T pumpkin cocktails?

Anyone have a T & T recipe for pumpkin cocktails? Prefer it a little creamy as opposed to real thin. Searching on the forum here was a waste of time. Found a few online but don't know which taste particularly good and don't want to buy all the various different liquors until it's been tasted by a few others and given a "thumbs up" ... Thanks.

I honestly have to say that I cannot imagine a pumpkin cocktail, but then pumpkin is merely a squash vehicle for spices, and not my favorite more than a tiny slice of pie once a year.

But since you asked, I searched the Serious Eats website and found some that might fit your needs. I'll take a glass of pinot noir, tho.

I saw this recently.

Pumpkin Liquor

Pumpkins augur the onset of winter. Infusing vodka with the king of fall produce ought to improve your outlook, combining the flavors of fall with a hint of caramel.
Pumpkin Liquor

Prep time: 30 minutes
Total time: 1 hour plus 6 weeks
Yield: Makes about 1 quart
Ingredients

2 cups water
1 cup granulated white sugar
3 vanilla beans, split
3 cinnamon sticks, cracked
6 whole cloves allspice
6 whole cloves
3 inches fresh ginger, sliced
Pinch ground nutmeg
2 cups roasted pumpkin, cubed
4 cups decent quality vodka
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, optional
2 tablespoons bourbon, optional

Cooking directions

To make syrup, bring water to boil in heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add sugar. Stir and reduce heat. Add vanilla, cinnamon, allspice, clove, ginger and nutmeg. Stir and remove from heat. Allow syrup to cool, about 30 minutes.

Toss cubed pumpkin into tall wide-mouthed jar. Pour vodka over cubes. Add 1 cup syrup. Seal and gently shake contents. Refrigerate up to 1 week, shaking daily. At week's end, add maple syrup to sweeten and bourbon to darken, if needed.

Strain contents through metal sieve into airtight container. Seal and store in a cool dark place for 5 to 6 weeks. Shake periodically. Strain contents into a clean bottle.

My problem is i have 5 male flowers on my vine..and only one female flower. It seems that one male flower opens per day..then die. Why will my female flower not open so i can hand pollenate it..otherwise i fear i wont get a pumpkin this year!! Please can someone give me advice as to help me encourage the female to open? Cheers!!

Wow - I guess we have been very lucky with our pumpkins! We started ours on a whim (had a package left at our house by the former owners, and thought it'd be fun to see if they grew) by seed in small peat pots in the garage back in May, and they took off like crazy. We planted them in the ground sometime in mid-late June. They were the first of all our plants to really take off once in the ground as well. As far as I know, my husband hasn't done anything special to care for them. We have a soaker hose for the entire garden, so they get the same amount as all the other plants. He uses some kind of organic fertilizer for all the plants, but not sure if he's used that on the pumpkins since they have been so prolific on their own. Our garden gets sun for most of the day - about 9am to 5pm. And it gets the heat as well. Wish I had suggestions/answers as to why ours have been so successful. Maybe it's the wasps/bees we have - I have a bunch of bird houses that I hung on the fence behind the garden, for decoration. Couple of weeks ago, when my husband was putting some nails and strings on the fence for the gourd vines to grab hold of, he discovered that the birds didn't like them, but the wasps sure did - they started to swarm him as they didn't like him being so close to their "nest"!!! A nice, refreshing martini-glass cocktail is an old fashioned Gimlet. One oz of fresh lime juice, 1/12 oz gin and one t powdered sugar, shaken with ice and strained. I actually prefer to use a simple syrup instead of the powdered sugar to keep the drink crystal clear or, if I have no lime juice on hand, use Roses Lime and leave out the sugar.

Gloria, I've been partially pre-baking the crusts for pumpkin & pecan pies for a long time. That's the only way I can manage to get the bottom crust cooked. Have to shield the crimps to keep them from getting too brown. The odd thing is that I don't remember Mom having these kind of problems. Must have been that O'Keefe & Merritt oven was far superior to anything I've owned? I've gone to an all butter crust (haven't tried lard) because the hydrogenated shortening crusts were giving me a belly ache. That, after all these years of enjoying a pretty much cast iron stomach. And I hear ya on Too Sweet. Neighbor offered me a sliver of store-bakery blackberry pie a couple of days ago. Oh, do I ever love blackberries so I could not refuse. And it was a decent pie exCept that it was too damned sweet.

Not T&T but I do plan to make this when I have Book Club at my house in November. I just got this link in an email today and it sounds really good as it's simple, creamy and the flavors look like they will mesh well.
