Have you dry aged beef AND how did it turn out??

Hello all,

I watched Alton Brown and Guy Fieri both show methods for dry aged beef. I purchased a small New York Strip (3 pounds), dried it well and wrapped it in 3 layers of cheese cloth. I put this on a cooling rack in a stainless pan (3 inches deep)(uncovered) and put it in the very back of the lowest shelf in my fridge. I left it there for 10 days. It was good but not great. I think the opening and closing of the fridge was the problem. The fix is getting a small dorm room fridge to use for dry aging meat.

Ideas??
