I have a RO system and I believe it takes everything out. I know it takes out chlorine. What is chloramine? Guess it depends on the filter on your system.

Janice, I'm sorry to hear about Steves back. My hubby had that years ago and the doctor wanted to try some ?experimental? treatment of shooting papaya into it. Fortunately he never did that (side effect could have caused paralysis) and it ended up healing itself. I hope your trip will be great once you get to go. It gets sun from eleven or twelve until two or three - hot. evermore, We are certainly in the area of the fires but not that close this time. We have lots of smoke depending on the way the wind blows. There is one fire that's stayed pretty out of control Momich Lake west of here (probably one hour). Our view looks west so we have been seeing a lot of that one. There's a really bad one on Okanagan Lake between Kelowna and Vernon on the west side. It's grown over the last few weeks with the wind and there have been lots of evacuations. That the Terrace Mountain Fire. Yesterday I took a friend to the airport in Kelowna, passing through Vernon and the smoke was terrible. The radio was warning people to avoid going outside though I didn't see alot of cooperation by the amount of the traffic. It was 11 years ago today- August 5 - that Salmon Arm was threatened by a devistating fire. The fire had started a week before in a south western part of town called Silver Creek. It was fairly remote and the story was that the forest service was letting some of the area burn because we've been plagued with Pine Beetles. On the night of Aug 5, my husbands birthday, we had friends over and were barbquing on the west side of the house. The wind came up and we watched the smoke spread from south to north. We were getting live embers and ash landing all around. It got worse over the evening and one couple who lived on the northwest side of Salmon Arm left. When they got home they called and said as they'd passed through town they saw the fire rush from the bottom to the top of Mount Ida which borders the southern side of the town. It only took 20 minutes to get to the top. The next weeks were basically a nightmare and the whole central part of town was evacuated. It was over 8000 people. The outskirts, where we are, were on ten minute alert for over a week. We chose to leave anyway since we had a dog, 7 cats and two horses at the time. If the predicted wind had not been as high up in the air as it was the town would have been gone. At that time it was the largest evacuation in BC. There were homes, barns and animals lost in Silver Creek as it swept through. Since that time there was a terrible fire in Kelowna (one of the largest cities in BC) and over 300,000 poeple were evacuated with hundreds of homes lost. Its really very frightening.

If you live within driving distance of Cincinnati and do not have plans for next weekend, you might want to consider this. Jungle Jim's is having his 4th Annual show and I know lots of people that produce hot sauce, etc., will be there. I'm not into heat (but love growing peppers!) but several people from thehotpepper.com forum are going to have a booth. JJ's is only about 10 minutes away from me so I am going to try to attend (I work on Saturdays and Sundays!). Mike

LOL, Dixie. Elery and I are going to Lebanon, Ohio, to visit his family on June 27. Family visits are usually me sitting around with his Dad, stepmom, brother, sister, aunts & uncles, etc. They talk about family members I don't know and never met and places and things I've never been to or done and I smile and nod or play with the kids and dogs. His Dad did tell Elery he'd like us to till up a spot to plant a few tomatoes, so I might have that to occupy me. As a reward for being a good girl, LOL, we're stopping at Jungle Jim's on the way home on Sunday. Oh yeah! Should I post pictures of the Porta Potty bathrooms?
