Another busy day in the kitchen..

Batch of english muffins

baked 6lbs of yam/sweet potatoes yellow and orange for freezer and holiday baking

baking 3 sugar pumpkins~same as above,

although a few cups of both will be harvested and made into muffins this week. :o)

Beans for dinner soaking

Butter softening for some kind of cookie..haven't decided yet.

What'll you have done by 9 PM??
You could make one of those muffins into a small pizza for my supper....and I'll have the other half with butter!

Ron is one of my favorite Ebay sellers. His plants are always healthy and a decent size for the price. I got my Miner's Claim from him and only paid about $10. My Candy Corn vine (Manettia inflata), from Ron also, froze in the GH last month. I cut it back but don't know if it will return from the roots or not. I'm at a swim meet in Delaware this weekend but found out that Pepper's Greenhouse is very close to the hotel so I'm going tomorrow. They have Candy Corn vines on their site and I will get another if they have them in stock. I've never tried taking cuttings but will be happy to send you a piece when it warms up. I can't wait to go to Pepper's. I've ordered from their online catalog but have never been to their greenhouse. I'm glad we don't have much luggage in the car! lol Karyn

I have 8 of the double knockouts but none of the singles. Wish I had a spot to plant an entire hedgerow of the single knockouts. They are workhorses that never stop. I have been told that Mid America is a top notch vendor, just like Schreiners is. As it stands now, I have to wait for all my daylily orders to come in so I can finish planting them and then I can do finial placement of my new garden section in the backyard. Depends on how much space I take for daylilies as to how much space I have left for the iris. Right now I am thinking I have lots of daylilies and not so much iris. So take more room for iris. I have totally lost track of how many daylilies I have anyway. I do the same as you, just keep working. I am tired today though and not going to do any more right now.

Thank you, everyone! The cobbler is very good! I had a piece not too long after it came out of the oven. Yum :). Here are the recipes for you, trixietx, Vidalia Onion Dressing 1 cup onions, diced 2 T. rice (or red) wine vinegar 1/2 cup mayo 2 T. brown sugar Mix all ingredients and let chill. Serve over fried green tomatoes or use as a dressing for cole slaw. Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa Cake (or Cobbler) Courtesy of Teresa :) 1 cup self-rising flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup milk 2 cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup (15-16 ounces each) 1 stick real butter Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place butter in Pyrex baking dish (or similar). Place into oven while it preheats and take out once melted. In the meantime, whisk the flour, sugar and milk together til mostly smooth. Pour over the butter in the baking dish. Spoon the contents of both cans of peaches over the batter. Bake at 350, until golden brown and crust is done (50-60 minutes, depending on your oven). Serve hot with a scoop of ice cream for a wonderful treat! I ate my piece of cobbler with some Cool Whip and it was heavenly. :) Enjoy! Brad AKA Moonwolf

OH GRRRRR on the studs not being in the right place. I am facing that myself with the kitty house. Fortunately I mostly need the studs to keep it from tipping over since it is tall. Not really for support . I have run into this in my own house for studs not being where I need them. It is why I let Joe hang my laundry rack. And with wet things hanging on it it needs to hold some weight. I never even considered the hinges you used. They do look nice. Is there enough slant to let longer things hang down so they are not laying on the below piece? I really love this flat design of this drying rack. And honestly with out having a dryer I NEED my drying rack. I wish he had hung it a little bit lower though. LOL He hung everything his height and I was a little more than half a foot shorter than his 6 foot.

I ended up making pumpkin drop cookies and a batch of sweet potato muffins. The pumpkin and sweet potatoes are in the freezers.

The cornbread is done, I made biscuits last night, and the beans are basically done....just need to hold out til Hubby is home in about 45 minutes.

I almost have the kitchen cleaned up too.

LindaC, at the rate I've been at it today..by 9pm I'll be in bed asleep..LOL

Sounds like a fun day. I wish I was home baking instead of my office on this dreary drizzly day! Would you please post your english muffin recipe? And do sugar pumpkins look different than jack olantern pumpkins? I dont know the difference if there is one.
