I was interested in the other thread that talked about greige. Also interested in the other thread that talked about hiring a colour consultant. However, I was as the BM dealer the other day and the colour consultant looked about 20 yrs old and just didn't inspire confidence... Anyway, the search continues and have sought out a few more colours. I will try to narrow these down and have to buy some samples (or quarts or gallons for those that don't come in small sizes). Here's my list...anyone have any experience with these? My goal is siding a warm grey or greige... les917, thank you! I know we can paint the ceiling of the entry, but I don't think they'll let us do the walls a different color than the house. I've never seen that done. It won't hurt to ask, though. I'll post pictures when it's done. I'm guessing it won't be until mid-summer. ufgator, thank you!!! Those pictures are invaluable. I was having a hard time picturing the whole house done. I love the trim around the windows! I didn't even realize the pop-outs (what we call the raised trim) went around the entire window because they're not painted now. I think I like the purple best, or maybe the deep red. Now I have to talk my husband into doing the trim. Funcolors, your advice is so helpful! I am checking to make sure the colors can be used on exterior, especially the bright ones. As you said, a lot of them are interior only. You could probably tell from the pictures, but our house is indeed a territorial with a flat roof (white coating). I'm so glad the darker color won't be a problem, because I was a bit concerned. We're in Tucson at about 2800 ft. elevation, so it does cool down at night. Now I'm going to do some more research on flat roofs because you've got me curious :-). Chickadee, thank you! I hear you on the humidity. We lived in Austin, TX for about a year and it was awful. I know Austin isn't as humid as back east/south, so it must be epic there. We had to move back to the west because I couldn't take the humidity. I'm such a wimp. LOL

I didn't read all the responses - but, I have/had the same problem w/my windows and doors. The builder showed me houses that he built w/the larger trim and said it was standard - I didn't need it added to the specs. Yet, when the windows/siding went in I have this little skinny trim - that too me looks unfinished/cheap. I could add shutters but that would not solve the problem w/the side of the house windows unless I put shutters on them too, which too me would be too much bric-brack. I think if you get wider trim work it will look very nice - but, you will have some size issues. It won't look right where you have th stone (yep, I have the stone issue too - but, luckily the stone guy self trimmed those couple windows. Then your upper windows you can't have the larger trim creep into your upper section of trim either. Why not just try it on your lower windows and see if that makes enough difference to make you happy. I too relied on my builder for his expersise - LOL I have learn't never to do that again.

I would explore some grey/green colors for shutters, trim and garage kind of like photo. Or match shutters with front door and use creamy white for all trim. Maybe needs a good washing first, and then tackle landscaping as budge allows.
