Opinions wanted - Exterior paint colours

Hello there, I'm trying to decide on colours for the exterior of my 20 yr old home. I've mocked up a few SW colours and would like some feedback that I'm going in the right direction. ANY and ALL feedback/opinions are welcomed (regarding paint and anything about curb appeal), thank you.

I wanted a warm neutral as the brick has flecks of brown and tan in it. Again, would like some opinions that I'm on the right track with a stone or greige colour, and I really would like a black or dark brown door, but am open to any and all ideas. Also, what do you think of painting the doors the same colour as the siding? Lastly, ignore the garbage can, it doesn't normally reside there.

I'm in a colder part of Canada (if that matters) and my neighbors' on each side have lighter homes. Here's a close up of my brick (see pic)

I like the Greige for the contrast it provides with the brick. I don't like the Mink at all. Maybe also paint your window trim a light color that matches your window grilles to provide definition.

Your house has some very nice architectural features, but the colors you're choosing doesn't seem to bring them out.

I live in a large 40 year old colonial which has 2 porches and has a cherry-ish stained wood on the front, side and garage doors. It also has a portico over the front door, and a columned porch on one side both of which are trimmed in a light color. I have narrowed down the color 'family' that I want to paint the outside of my home. For the body, I am seeking a warm color in the yellow, beige and cream group. I may have found a good one with BM Concord Ivory, which on the areas of the house that I have sampled it, looks correct to me. My problem is imagining the whole house painted in that color.... would it be too bold? Is it too gold? Has anyone here used Concord Ivory on their exterior? Does anyone know of a warm yellow/beige color that does not overwhelm on a large house? For trim, I seek a warm, complementary ivory color and for the shutters I fell in love with BM blue dusk, which I would describe as a mid-tone blue/gray. I usually am the one that my friends come to for color help, its funny when its your own decision, its much harder... Thanks in advance!

I find high contrast of this sort very old fashioned. lessening the contract between the trim and body color would lend it a more modern feel. But remember -- its an OLD house Ã¢ÂÂ¦ it will NEVER be modern. Why not be true to the house's historic exterior and let the interior breath a modern air ?

IMO no stone I rarely like stone and brick mixed so I would do siding but then I would have also kept the same window shape and size .I think additions should always look like they have been there forever not slapped on to the side.

Photoshopping will give a broad idea of what works such as orange versus green, but not for shades this close together. Of what I see above, I prefer the darker shades. I would suggest you paint the door a bright contrasting color, such as a shade of red that goes well with the color you ultimately choose.

Just from what you posted, I like the lighter greige color. It seems like there could be some more pazazz, but I am not good at that kind of thing.... but anyhow, nothing wrong with the just greige... :)

Thank you for your mock-ups lukkiirish, much appreciated. And kjmama, I hear you about trying to get more pizzaz but not sure how to go about doing that.

Perhaps I need to try other colours than the greiges, and/OR make the trim pop more. And yes, with a pop of colour for the door, although I yearn for a black door, not sure why.

Perhaps I'll try more colours tomorrow - any ideas? And do you like the garage doors painted the same colour as the siding now, vs. the old way - painted the same colour as the trim?

I like the greige paint color since I like grayish beiges as a very neutral peaceful color. My other choice I like is the warm stone.

I was interested in the other thread that talked about greige. Also interested in the other thread that talked about hiring a colour consultant. However, I was as the BM dealer the other day and the colour consultant looked about 20 yrs old and just didn't inspire confidence...

Anyway, the search continues and have sought out a few more colours. I will try to narrow these down and have to buy some samples (or quarts or gallons for those that don't come in small sizes).

Here's my list...anyone have any experience with these? My goal is siding a warm grey or greige...
1. BM "Thunder" - AF-685
2. BM "Sea Gull Gray"
3. General Paint - "Canada Goose" CH112
4. General Paint solid stain - "Cade Cod Grey" or "Grey
  Cloud"
5. General Paint - paint "Artesan" CL 3013M
6. Behr paint- "Granite Boulder" - 790D-4
7. Behr Solid Stain - "Light Lead"
8. CIL paint - Pewter Grey 50YY 47/053 W/B
