casey_nfld, I've never seen crab traps before..... my mind goes blank.... ok. I was making a basket, so 'cat trap'. :) grrr.... this shows for me on preview, but when I post it GW edits the URL and breaks the link! If the photo doesn't show this time, I'm giving up. Karen... That falcon has been hurt...either shot with buckshot; attacked by another falcon/predator or flew into something impenetrable. From the pattern of blood spots on his breast...I'd probably opt for buckshot. Breaks my heart to see a bird in this condition but falcons and hawks aren't always appreciated by farmers and the like. In any case...if you frequent the area where you took this photo...keep your eyes open. Depending upon what caused his wounds...he may become unable to fend for himself...becoming more visible than is healthy for him [or perhaps dying] until any missing wing feathers fill in. I, personally, would love any follow-up you might get regarding him. They're such beautiful birds. Anne

Happy Pi Day!! NOT my photo, just had to share it. Mine never look that pretty, but now I want apple pie! This post was edited by jasdip on Fri, Mar 14, 14 at 8:43
