Sorry, more that one pic today. I'm feeling a little sad and nostalgic. A year ago today I spent the day at Dream a Dream Kennels in Willow, Alaska. During my visit I went on an eight mile sled dog ride. AMAZING experience! I wish I were there right now. This is me bundled up in cold weather gear that belongs to 14 time Iditarod racer, Vern Halter. What a wonderful man he is. This is where I started my ride. It was a breathtakingly beautiful day. I was getting ready to go to bed the other night, when Lauren sat on the end of the loveseat that I was on. She started talking to me and as the conversation got longer I noticed how pretty she is. I hadn't taken a picture of either kid in a long time so I told her to go get my camera. She thought I lost my mind, LOL! This is one of the pictures I took, made it black and white:

A Battery of Coastal Defense Guns at the U.S. Navy Maritime Museum at Groton, Conn. These type of guns were mounted in forts near the mouth of almost all major ports or waterways throughout the East Coast from about 1830 until well after the Civil War. To give you a size reference, the girl in the picture is my daughter, who is exactly 5ft tall.

Some of the rug wool I dyed yesterday, hanging over the woodstove to dry. I'm back at it today, and having fun!
