Comments (22)Thanks for the tip about painting in the heat Ann! I was leaning towards black.. when I talked with the 'real owner' she told me it wasn't hers anymore and I should paint it any color I want! Gee she was no help at all. So we continued to discuss it and she suggested painting it white and see how it looks. If I (we) don't like it then we can repaint it black. DUH... now why did I let myself get all worried about something that's easy as a can or 2 of spray paint to fix? When I paint it white, it will be glossy as I can get it. If we end up going with black, I'll do it matte. Or maybe satin finish? I kinda like black satin finishes. I'll stress over that some other time. thanks for all the suggestions and confidence that I can do this and have it turn out just fine....See MorePreparing Sheet Metal For Painting?
Comments (1)What kind of metal (steel, aluminum) and what coating might be present? The first thing needed is to make sure there is NO oil from manufacturing left on the surface. Depending on the metal and any surface coating present an etch might be needed....See MorePainting over Wood Paneling thats has been previously painted?
Comments (2)I had to do a google search to see what French Grape looks like. It is a deep red, which is one of the more difficult colors to right. You will need a tinted primer and at least two coats of paint. You will want to go over the walls carefully looking for paint drips to sand down and any holes to fill. Your bottom photo is upside down on my screen. You need to decide what color to paint that trim piece above the baseboard molding. I would paint it white to match the baseboard. Yes, you can just move your furniture to the center of the room....See Morepainting metal bifold doors
Comments (3)At least semigloss. Flat/matte will get dirty and be a pain to clean(even just wipe down). First, it will be a good idea to remove the doors to paint. Second, a light sanding and thorough cleaning needs to be done. Third, a metal primer(close in color to the final paint, as white for light colors, grey for medium colors and red for dark colors) should be used. Final paint is applied only after the primer has dried completely....See Moregrullablue
