Terriks, the same thing happened to my children! I used to give them vitamins shaped like Flintstone characters and kept them in the top kitchen cabinet. One day when I was taking a shower my five year old pulled a chair over to the counter, got up on it and pulled two bottles of vitamins down. He opened both and gave one to his three-year-old sister and they started munching away. Neither could tell me how many they had eaten so I took them to our pediatrician. She gave them both ipecac, but my daughter had iron toxicity and had to stay in the hospital overnight. I threw the vitamins away forever that day, and they haven't suffered one bit from not taking extra vitamins above what they naturally get in a balanced diet. Oh---and I asked my son how he got the "child proof" cap off, and he said he just read the directions on it.... push and turn!

Hi marksteelman, I don't have any suggestion to offer to deal with your problem, as I've never had a PayPal account - nor eBay, either. I think that your possibility of getting a reply to your question may be better if you start a thread of your own, so that people who may be interested in your topic may see it. Also, you may find a reply over in the "Computer" forum. While your kid may or may not be making a better return on his invested dollar than you ... ... it looks as though he's more adept in the use of a computer. As are most of our kids. I love how her room is coming along! It's fun,sophisticated, and entirely appropriate. The wood tones fit in really well. I didn't go into my personal experience with letting children choose their decor, but overall my attitude is that they should have choice within a set of parameters; I have boys who are not highly opinionated and my decor style is not highly feminine.

Further thoughts... I still think this "mom" is more worried about losing her source of income writing for the Chicago Tribune than about her kid's safety, or her kid's feeling for her own privacy. I did read the ONE article linked to, but absolutely will not or ever read anything else this sorry excuse for a human writes. The fact that she didn't even TELL her kid she was doing this, and the child had to discover it on her own... that speaks volumes about the woman's parenting smarts. (LACK THEREOF.) Those I know who talk about their children on FB do have privacy enabled, and they only talk about... hey, my kid graduated, hey, my kid won such and such... and at a certain age, they were consulted before they were posted about. These children didn't become "parenting issues we want to yack about in order to earn a few dollars, or sympathy, or whatever". I don't even HAVE a (human) child, and this peeves me beyond belief.
