I would bring it back to the store and make them adjust it. And if they can't make it match, get a new batch at their expense! Home Depot did this for me recently. They couldn't match the color I was trying to color match. So we had asked for it to be made into another distinct color that had more pigment than the original, so it should have mixed up fine. The paint girl didn't feel like doing the math for the fractions of ounces of color, so she 'estimated' in her little head, and it was WAY too blue. I got the color formulas only to find out she had 'estimated' nearly an extra half ounce of blue into the formula! That is a lot for a gallon of paint. So they took it back at their cost, and I got a different color entirely, and I was very pleased with it. Good luck!

Thank you Faron for writing right back. I respect your knowledge and professionalism. Thank you for caring and helping me. The painter and his helper used actual sandpaper sheets/sponges and I am sure they did not wash the grit off. I am unhappy and I feel you are right that his ego was at state. He had gone to college and was painting in college for extra money and then when he graduated he found out he liked painting better than the other jobs so continued being a painter. I am fair to him. When he gives me a price, I pay it and copy my checks twice for a receipt for him and me since he never gives me a bill. I write on the check what he did. I have been buying the paint and when he has no helper, I have been helping him a little bit with getting tools for him, etc. and buying him lunch so he will stay here to work and so he will not be hungry as he works. I just expect a professional job and to listen to me since I am the one paying him and it is my home and I want a good job done. I even helped him on my own time finding stuff on the computer for him. Hence, I do not like his attitude today. He keeps complaining poverty but he sure has money for vacations and fun so he just has different priorities than me. I want my home to look nice and that is where my money is going. I am in an upset mood today since I was hoping the job would be done and done right. I do research and I try to learn all I can. It is my house that I bought myself with no help and I wanted a good job done since I want my home to look pretty like the homes in my neighborhood and I want to be proud of my home when people visit. This is my Master Bathroom that is a very pretty room and one of the reasons I fell in love with this townhouse and I want it to look nice. I wish he would have told me he had no time instead of calling a few times to tell me he had time to do the job now before his vacation and if not, he could not paint for me for few weeks. I had told him I was too busy for interruptions before 2-1-07 but then I caved in and let him paint. The painter (who painted in February and only paint one wall in each room downstairs and never came back since I was last on his list while he was first on mine when I did all this amnesty work for him in the past) who owed me money has come back and I could have just had him paint but I liked how this new painter did the rest of the house (and that he showed up for the job until it was done... he was slow at that time and I provided him with work) with my insisting on the priming first, so I wanted him to paint for me. The job in my bathroom does not look professional to me and I am upset. Also he should get the rust out of my sink in my laundry room before he goes on vacation. I have been very nice to him and I work very hard to pay for my home and nice things and I do not have time like him to go on vacation so often. In fact I have not been on a vacation in 8 years and I need one badly. I plan to have a friend visit me from Canada after tax season and take some time off. He can at least respect others belongings. Any other homeowner would have charged for the two broken lamps and not paid him for this last job until they found out the price of the broken phone and the sink, but I am nice and paid him. The lamps were fixed by the client who referred the painter. The phone still is not working. The sink he tried to get the rust out of but has not accomplished this task. I have no idea what a new sink cost. Thank goodness I stopped him from continuing to clean his brushes and put tools in my other sinks. I like the guy and as a person I think he is nice but now I am upset that he could care less about the job he did for me. That is all I wanted was a good job done and for him to care. But I guess now that he has other jobs lined up, I am not so important? If I like someone's work, I give a lot of referrals. If I am unhappy, people will know. I know when I loved Gateway, most of my clients bought Gateway computers. When I was unhappy with them, I was sure to let my clients know and they bought Dell Computers and other competitors.

Cindyloo, you've been busy! If I decided to go with a conservative color door, I thought it might be a darker version of our siding color, SW Quiver Tan. It looks really good with our salmon-colored brick. Is there a darker version of Quiver Tan available on the websites tool? Awm03, of course I dont mind. I love seeing all ideas. We've been busy doing our side and back yard the past 2 years and have neglected our front. Seeing your mockup is an eyeopener. I really like the walkway opened up like that, it looks much more welcoming. Less grass would be great too, as grubs got alot of it this summer anyway. I was naive when we did our landscaping 15 yrs ago when the house was built. I was so anxious to have "something" and didnt have enough $$. I didnt research our landscaper or his ideas much. While the river birch is pretty, especially the bark, the location is terrible. It's a very messy tree in all 3 season's but winter. Our driveway and sidewalk are always covered with something, which tracks into the garage and then into the house, makes me nutty! But the tree is very happy. For a long time I hated how it blocked the view of our house, but now that its bigger, I've been liking the privacy it gives, and it is pretty (if I dont look down, lol). I'm debating having a landscape design done for an area in our backyard that has me stumped. I could include a design for the front too as you suggested. I've never considered moving the walkway. Natal, yes, the roots are an issue...they are starting to lift up the sidewalk next to the driveway. So maybe its a good excuse to get a new sidewalk :) geez, I promised my husband if I could just get that backyard part finished and a new front door, I'd be done "decorating" outside. cant wait to show him this new idea :)

Pesky, I think it's the paint too. Franksmom, The can says you can recoat in 4 hours. I was going to wait 24 but ended up waiting almost three days. It was still tacky but at that point I wasn't going to strip them (Tried to strip an old vanity once and didn't complete the project.) and figured it would eventually dry. It's drier now than it was the other month when I posted on here about them still being tacky. I think they'll eventually dry completely but that doesn't fix the marks. They don't sound tacky/sticky when you walk on them with shoes. I followed Paintguy's advice from the paint forum on this project. I used Zinsser's BIN shellac primer because the stairs are pine. Did all the proper cleaning and sanding,etc. I did ask on the paint forum about the paint being tacky and they said they'd contact SW because it sounds like a problem with the paint. When I talked to a guy in the store, he just said I'd have to repaint the scuffed treads and had nothing to say about them not being dry. Paintguy recommended Muralo paint for this and Paintergirl recommended BM floor paint. Wish I would've listening to one of their ideas and just bought the stupid paint sample and matched. I emailed SW last night so I'm curious to see what they say. Sounds like I'd need to strip everything (not going to happen) in order to fix it.
