Thanks,Lou. The Reynolds web site stated that they have discontinued manufacturing the bags. Amazon must still have them.

Go see what some people are charging for a single box of bags.

I have one, and think it is a big rip-off.

Reynolds made the right decision in not making them anymore.
They ought to 'recall' all those that are still out there.
It sounded like such a good idea, a quicker, easier way to seal foods without getting the big Food Saver out.

I bought the sealer and quite a lot of bags.
They just don't 'hold' a seal.

Wrapping the food in some type of cling wrap, then putting it into a freezer bag, like Ziplock, or whatever, and pressing the air out, does a much better job of keeping foods 'ice' free.

Rats, I really like their system. Guess I'll have to order online.

That really stinks! I didn't think they had been on the market long enough to already be discontinued... though I heard Reynolds was bought by someone else a few months ago not sure if it's true. I know that I bought some Reynolds foil a couple weeks ago and it tore more readily than the dollar store brand. I'll not be doing that again!

I completely agree, Rusty. Everybody claimed to be so happy with the way the thing worked that I thought there must be some knack for getting it to hold a seal, and I just didn't have the touch. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one.

I've already got a regular vacuum sealer--just thought one of these would be good for small things like pieces of cheese in the fridge, with the bonus that the bags didn't have to be cut down each time you used them, and eventually thrown away like the FoodSaver bags. And the gadget itself hardly takes up any space. But it just wasn't working for me.

Of course, now that the bags are a collector's item, I'll probably start hyperventilating about not having a lifetime supply. ;o)

Gosh, I've had one at home and one at the office for a couple of years. Never had a problem with them holding a seal. I'm upset they quit making the bags. That little thing has saved me a lot of money.

The handi Vac system was on sale for $7.99 at Shop N Save but they had no bags. It was about $20. originally.If they were giving it away, who would want it if you can't buy the bags?

I liked the system as well; although they are still available in our stores now, I would not like to be rid of the system entirely. I don't use them in place of my Food Saver storage, but they're good for packing lunches for fishing trips, for short storage, and especially for storing silverware and silver jewelry. Often times the manufacture will discontinue a particular item only to replace it with a better version. Let's hope so in this case.
